Twice as packed -part 2

Waking up

Aspen <><><>

"aspen, I'm here." the words echoed in aspen's mind as she drifted through the layers of unctuousness

"aspen!" someone sobbed. Aspen's eyes flew open

"dingo!" she muttered painfully

"no, my pup, it's me." aspen looked Up to see her mother.

"oh..." she said. Misty looked crestfallen.

"where is.... Dingo.... And YAP!" aspen shot up, but fell back a pain gripped her body.

Misty's eyes got watery

"i..... Yap....." she choked up. "I'll help you into the clearing."

Aspen knew this could only mean one thing, the pack was sitting vigil for yap.... He was dead.

Misty helped aspen out of the healer's den and into the dark clearing. The moon was covered by clouds, but the stars shone. The sky was a velvety navy blue, the stars dull. It was as Starpack was mourning too.

Snowy sat in front of a yellow pelt, his tail still and his head down. The pack gathered around, as solemn as aspen'a father.

Blackie walked up to snowy slowly and nudged him, trying to usher him to the hunter's den, snowy shook his head but said nothing.

"no!" aspen broke the silence by limping urgently over to her brother's body. The pain raged, but aspen didn't care. The pack started to break away to the den, bolt last to leave, leaving the broken family to mourn.

Aspen pushe her nose into yap's flank, wishing he would jump up and want to play, but he remained still and his body was now cold. His fur was groomed from the blood, and rubbed with sweet smelling herbs, but aspen whined, she wanted to smell her brother, not flowers.

"where..... Where is dingo?" aspen mummured

"how...... How can you ask that!?" snowy snarled at her, not looking up. "your brother is DEAD!" he whipped on her

"i asked a question!" aspen tapped defencively

"all you care a bout is that featherheaded,...... Son of BUTCH!" snowy yelled

"snowy stop!"

"HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!" aspen shot back

"is everything all right?" blackie peeked out from the alpha's den

"NO!" the family all barked back at the same time, blackie retreated quickly

"I was afraid this would happen to you!" snowy growled

"stop!" misty barked

"what?" aspen ignored her mother

"you would become a male obsessed FEATHERHEAD!" snowy bellowed

"snowy!"

"I HATE YOU!" aspen screamed

"DIDDO!" snowy was cut off as misty slapped him with her paw. Snowy lost it and leaped onto misty, holding her down and darling in her face. Aspen was terrified by the look in his eyes. Misty gasped

Suddenly, his face, tail, and haunches dropped. Snowy sighed, climbed off of misty, and walked out of camp. Misty shook the dirt from her pelt and presse against aspen, who was frozen in shock.

"he.... He's just stressed honey." misty said, but aspen could tell she was trying to convince herself more than aspen.
