Have you ever felt lost in this crazy little world? Have you ever known who are but been too afraid to embrace it?
In this story, two 35 year old men discover what it means to live on the wild side.
This is a story about finding yourself againafter losing your way in the forest of life...
It's a chilly winter afternoon in the city of opportunity, Los Angeles. Sean Mcloughlin, also known online as Jacksepticeye, has just finished talking for over an hour at his panel in the winter Youtube convention. With him was his fiancé, Jimmy Donaldson, colloquially known as Mr. Beast, who was sat in the crowd watching. The crowd of millennials wearing lanyards over their Zelda quarter-zip hoodies erupted in applause as Sean closed his talk. He then stood up and walked off the stage where he met up with his fiancé in the backstage room.
Sean: "Phew! I'm pooped after that mate! Geez... that was a long session, I think the longest I've ever done at a convention."
Jimmy: "Yeah I'm tired, let's go back to the hotel room."
Sean and Jimmy walked out of the backroom together to the private youtuber parking lot. As they approached Jimmy's beast-themed Lamborghini, he pulled out his beast-themed keys to unlock it and remotely open the doors. The pair threw their collection of tote bags into the back and headed off to their $8,974 per night hotel room in the heart of the city.
The first 5 minutes of their ride was filled with nothing but the sound of the engine. There wasn't even any music since Jimmy hated the radio, and he refused to let Sean play his own music because he thought it was too "normie". Sean couldn't bear the awkwardness so he chirped up, attempting some small talk to break up the tension.
Sean: "It's been a while since I've been in LA.
Jimmy: "Really? it feels like I come here every week..."
Sean: "That's because you usually don't take me with you."
Jimmy: "..."
Sean: "I mean, I don't have to get involved in your work or anything, I just would like to spend more time with you."
Jimmy: "Hmm"
Sean: "...Soo... How did I do! I was honestly nervous. It's just been a whil-"
Jimmy: "Uhh... I think you did well, honestly I was messaging one of my managers for Mr. Beast Burger about opening a new location in Southampton, so... I wasn't really paying attention."
Sean: "oh... Well I watched your talk and I think you did great!"
Jimmy: "Hmm."
Sean: "..."
Sean gave up trying to talk with Jimmy, the tension from earlier only doubled. There was so much Sean wanted to say, but he felt like there was a wall between them. A pit of dread filled his stomach as the car fell deafeningly silent. After an excruciating 24-minute drive in the UNBEARABLE Los Angeles traffic, they arrived at their $8,974 per night hotel room. Once they got their room key and entered their room, they relaxed in bed and watched family guy together. Besides Peter's quips coming from the television however, the room remained tense. After a little while, Sean fell fast asleep in Jimmy's arms.
When Sean woke up in the bed, he noticed he was now lying alone. He looked up and saw Jimmy packing his suitcase. He turned to the alarm clock and saw that it was now after 10 PM.
Sean: "Jimmy I-"
Jimmy darted his attention to Sean.
Sean: "Babe... do you really have to go tonight? Can't you please just stay with me this time?"
Jimmy: "Ughh... You know I can't, Sean. I run so many damn businesses to keep my empire afloat, so I have to keep my priorities straight sometimes."
Sean: "Your priorities? So what, am I not a priority to you? I'm your fucking fiancé, we're gonna be married soon!"
Jimmy: Sighs "Are we seriously going to fight about this right now? We've talked this through so many times already and yet you still have no respect for the importance of what I'm doing."
Sean: "But honey, you don't need to be doing all of this. We have all the money in the world, you're so focused on feeding kids in a whole different country that you're forgetting about me!"
Jimmy: "You're being so selfish Sean! I'm going out of my way to change people's lives! Not everything is about you, you know."
Sean: "That's the thing, I know you're only doing this for your own ego. You don't really care about those kids, you only do it because you know it's what gets the most views."
Jimmy: "You know what? Fuck you, I'm leaving."
Sean: "No! I didn't mean it like that! Wait, Jim-"
Before Sean could even finish speaking, Jimmy stomped out of the room, slamming the door behind him. Just as quickly as the argument started, the room once again fell silent. The dread he was anticipating in the car ride came out true, just like it always does these days. He didn't know what else to do but to sob in his $8,974 per night refined silk pillows. After a while, he finished crying and decided to go get some fresh air.
As Albert Einstein once said "be careful what you wish for!"
