Trying to learn

Teacher is explaining stuff to the smartest kids in the class. "Blah, blah, blah. Do you all understand in how to do this?". Kids in smart group nod. "Ok". Teacher leaves to teach the rest of the class. "Did any of you guys actually understand it?", a student asked the group.
"Nope, not a bit", the whole group says.

This actually happened to me. In the 5th grade, my teacher used to separate the class sometimes and since my group was a bit ahead, she explained this stuff and yeah. No one understood it. Oh well
