Thanos walked into class that next morning with a big smile on his face, confident and sure that he and Nam-gyu would ace the performance. "Hey, Nam-su!" Thanos exclaimed, skipping down the steps and meeting Nam-gyu where he was standing, by the piano. Nam-gym turned around, an annoyed expression on his face. "Dude, I told you to stop calling me that.." He groaned, crossing his arms. "Yeah, yeah. You ready for our performance?" Thanos asked, battling Nam-gyu's frown with his bright eyes and grin. "Of course I am. You are, right? You have it memorized?" Nam-gyu asked, skeptically glancing over Thanos, as if he was searching for any sign of doubt or nervousness he could find. "Nam-su, I told you, I've got it in the bag." He smirked, throwing his hands up. He was just doing it to annoy Nam-gyu at this point. He knew what his name was, but it was hilarious watching the boy get mad at the same joke over and over. "If you say so." Nam-gyu shrugged, taking papers from the piano and laying them down on Jung-bae's desk.

"We're going first." Nam-gyu said. It wasn't a question, it was practically a demand. "Why? Don't they say "save the best for last"?" Thanos asked, crossing his arms with a smile. "Well, you're not really convincing me that we are going to be the best. So I say we just get it over with." Nam-gyu replied. Thanos rolled his eyes. "Can't you just try to be positive?" He asked, his smile slipping. "If we are good, then it'll make everybody else after us seem worse." Nam-gyu then said, back still turned. The smile came back to Thanos's face.

Jung-bae then walked in the room, as well as some more students. "Hello, kids. You all ready?" He asked some of the kids with an enthusiastic thumbs up. "I assume you two are preforming first?" Jung-bae asked Nam-gyu and Thanos, and though he wore a smile, Thanos could detect the slight nervousness in his voice. "Yeah. Can we start?" Nam-gyu responded. Jung-bae glanced at all the other students, and though not everybody was there yet, he agreed anyway. Thanos sat down at the drums, and Nam-gyu sat at the piano. Thanos waited for Nam-gyu's nod to begin, and then they started. Thanos could admit, it didnt flow as naturally for him as it had the first time they preformed. But the perfectness of Nam-gyu's playing made any small mistake from Thanos invisible. Nam-gyu was clearly the main event, Thanos just supporting him with his hits. But he honestly didn't even care. He couldn't help but glance over at Nam-gyu, who looked so in the moment. Thanos admired him and his skills more than he would ever care to admit. He truly couldn't have wished for a better partner. Who knew drums and piano could sound so good together? They finished up, and Thanos noticed how Nam-gyu's posture fell just slightly and he seemed to relax. "Well done, boys! That was great!" Jung-bae applauded, and some of the other students joined in. Thanos stood up, following Nam-gyu as he started towards the steps. Nam-gyu turned to Thanos with a smile. A genuine smile. Not a teasing or malicious smile. A real one. "Great job. I can't believe how good we actually sounded." Nam-gyu said, as if he was proud yet truly surprised. "Damn, never thought I'd get a compliment from you." Thanos raised a brow with a smirk. "I told you we got this, dude! We were amazing." He said, proudly. Thanos sat down in his usual spot, and raised a brow when Nam-gyu stayed standing and began to collect his stuff. "Where the hell are you going?" Thanos asked. "To get coffee, obviously." Nam-gyu responded, as if it was the most obvious thing in the entire fucking world. "We still have class." Thanos said, gesturing to where Hyun-ju and Young-sik began walking up to preform. Nam-gyu rolled his eyes. "Come on." He then walked out the door without another word. Thanos looked at the door, then to Jung-bae, deciding what to do. He sighed, getting up and following Nam-gyu out the door. He quickly caught up to him.

"How long have you been playing drums?" Nam-gyu asked, after a moment. It was said awkwardly as fuck and made Thanos burst out laughing. Nam-gyu groaned, clearly embarrassed. "Never mind." He mumbled, starting down the stairs. Thanos quickly followed. "Two years." He said, shrugging with a smile. "That's all?" Nam-gyu raised a brow. Thanos nodded. "You're good." Nam-gyu shrugged. "Thank you, my boy. How long have you been on, uh, keys?" Thanos asked. "Nearly fifteen years, I think." Nam-gyu replied, as if it was nothing. "Fifteen?" Thanos blinked. "Damn, they had you making music right out of the womb." He said, almost in disbelief. Nam-gyu laughed. Thanos felt almost proud that he was able to get the bitchiest guy on campus to laugh. It was quite the achievement. "My mom wanted me to be a musician." Nam-gyu replied. "Well, she must be real proud of you then." Thanos said, shooting Nam-gyu a wink. "I guess." He shrugged.
