A COLD draft blew through the classroom window next to Min-ji's desk. She suppressed a shiver, pulling her sleeves over her hands.

She left for ten minutes to use the restroom. When she returned, she stopped.

Her chair, which always sat directly in the draft's path, had been shifted two feet to the left. It was now perfectly placed in a patch of weak afternoon sun, out of the wind.

She looked across the room. Si-eun was at his desk, head down as if he'd never moved. He didn't look at her.

But the problem was solved. The environment had been optimized.

Min-ji sat down in the warmth. She didn't thank him. He wouldn't want her to.

She just let the sun heat her back and, for the first time all day, felt perfectly, silently seen.

Everyone knows SEONG SEO-JI. With her easy laugh and magnetic confidence, she owns every room she walks into. She is the undisputed main character of Class 2-B.

No one notices SEONG MIN-JI. Her twin sister's shadow. A girl composed of quiet breaths and carefully averted eyes.

YEON SI-EUN notices neither. His classmates are background noise, their names irrelevant data. Until a piece of data is forced into his awareness: a rumor that Seong Seo-ji has a crush on him. It's illogical, but filed away.

Then, during roll call, he hears it. "Seong Min-ji."

The surname registers. His eyes, scanning the room, land on the only person he visually associates with that part of the classroom-the silent, anxious girl he's looked at a hundred times without ever truly seeing.

The equation in his head completes itself with brutal, incorrect efficiency. The Seong girl who is interested in me = This Seong girl.

Now, he sees her. Really sees her. And the most terrifying, unreadable boy in school is suddenly watching Min-ji's every move, trying to solve the most confusing problem of his life: why the girl made of silence would ever look his way, and what she's really running from.

This will be set AFTER Su-ho wakes up and i'm not following the plot, i'm doing my own thing. Su-ho will appear in this, if you've read my other stories you know i love making things intersect 🫦
