Animals do grieve. There are people who think that animals don't grieve, when that is not the case at all. Animals grieve in many different ways. Ways that we all don't know or understand. What are all the ways that an animal can grieve about someone, rather it is a human or another animal?

Animals can tend to act like someone else, who just recently passed. For example:
A cat named J, had an older sister named K. K had recently passed away. Before she passed, she was taking the place of her 12 year old sister, at that time, by meowing and filling in the emptiness and the quietness. Now that K has passed, J has taken the place of her sister. J isn't used to it being quiet and empty, so she does almost exactly everything that K had done.

Animals can tend to show their emotions for whenever they smell something that had their loved ones scent on it. For example:
Animals can tend to lay only on the things that still has their loved ones scent on.

For some animals.. They tend to no longer take care of themselves, and end up joining that loved one, soon after..

For other animals, they can tend to act like that loved one never existed, so that way they aren't hurting all the time.

We might see it weird or annoying, but they are grieving. They are struggling, just as much as we do too.
