Chapter 3: The Summoning Shrine - North

Start from the beginning

"W-what?!" the man in red asks, completely shocked. "Leaving? Like, you're not going to kill me?"

"Are you a bokoblin?"

"No..."

"A wizard in disguise?"

"No."

"A humanoid dragon?"

"No! What the fu-"

"Then, I'm not going to kill you." The guy walks between the two, so Link can fully take in his features. He has striking, blonde hair and a magnificent blue scarf-like cape. It has the symbol of the Triforce on the end, and he wears a bright green tunic. He is tall, probably as tall as he is, and burly. This guy could probably move a horse if he really needed to.

The man in red is clearly intimidated by his size, but his speech doesn't change tone. "Hey! Don't move another inch! I'm still not trusting you, no-name!"

"And that's my problem, how?"

Link stands up, deciding to diffuse the situation. He can tell his height also intimidates the red tunic man, so he puts his hands up. "Let's just start over. Names aside, where have you brought us?" he asks gently.

"I... you really don't know?" red tunic asks. Finally, he lowers his sword just a bit. "I was sure that... you two kidnapped me."

Link looks at the third man, who stops rummaging through the stash of weapons to also give him a confused glance. "No," he says, "the last thing I was doing was returning to the castle. Then, I blacked out."

"The castle?" both Link and the red tunic ask, shocked. Red takes over, "Like, Hyrule Castle?"

"Yeah. I was with Zelda," the man explains. "Did you seriously strip me of my chainmail?"

"It's right over, wait," Red (Link is going to start calling him that until he reveals his name) now fully puts away his sword, "you're a knight, aren't you?"

"Captain, actually," he responds.

"Wow," Link gasps. "I've never actually met someone in the ranks before. Well, at least never seen their faces."

"You're not helping your case," Red says sternly. "But, you also don't seem like the other knights of Hyrule."

"If he's been with the princess, I think that's at least worthy of some trust," Link compromises.

"Psh! He could have been plotting something against her highness!" he argues. "But, if you want to be naïve, see if I care."

He rolls his eyes at this guy's tone. Kids. Though Red doesn't entirely look like a kid, he sure is acting like one. Or, he's just embracing this fear he has plastered on his face. Either way, Link isn't about to entertain him any longer. Now, it is time to actually observe the area.

"Hmm," he hums, giving the captain some space to re-equip himself. One of his ears twitches when he feels a drop of cold water fall from the ceiling and onto his head. "There doesn't seem to be many doors."

Red nods, agreeing. "That hallway is pretty dark. Hah, I thought about leaving the two of you, but I didn't want to be responsible if you got attacked by some monster in here."

"Very heroic of you," Link responds sarcastically. "Anyway, was there an exit anywhere that you saw?"

"Walked around for a bit, but couldn't find a way out. I was nervous about getting too far away from this room, since this place seems to be a maze."

"Tch, don't worry." The two men turn toward the captain who holds out a bomb. "We can just blast our way through."

"Um, I don't think that's a great-" before Link can finish, the captain ignites the item and throws it at the furthest wall. It explodes, and the dust clears, but the wall is still very much intact.
