The next day, they woke up when sunlight hit their faces. They didn't want to get up but had to get going. The blanket was picked up and put back in the bag. They both had some food and drinks first before Barry put on the backpack and he climbed down the fire escape. Randall remained up high, watching him. He kept low so other humans wouldn't see him so much.
It was quite a walk through the city. Randall only came down to cross streets with the boy invisibly. After there were new buildings, he would get higher up again for his safety. Eventually, there was a tram that could take them further without straining their feet so much.
Randall had ridden on buses before but never a tram. It looked kinda fun. "It's not like a roller coaster, is it?"
"No, but it gives a fun ride. Sure beats walking." Barry told him.
"Yeah. Okay, let's use it, kid." Randall replied.
Barry rode it normally. Randall got on the top of the tram. His hands and feet held on. He felt the warmth of the sun on him. It was good for him to get some of that d3. The tram went down and up several streets and it got them closer to Barry's aunt's house. Some of the motions made Randall feel a little nauseated. He tried hard not to turned colors or puke. He tried hard to control his breathing.
The tram eventually stopped. Randall got off in a hurry. "Barry!" Randall called out.
Barry heard Randall call out. He got off the tram. "Randall?"
"Get off of there, please." Randall ordered politely but painfully.
Barry got off the tram. "Where are you?" Then he felt a grip on his arm.
"Right here. Oh, I feel like I'm going to be sick, kid." Randall moaned. His lower hands were holding his belly. He saw a sewer and he ran over and threw up his guts in the sewer. He lost all his breakfast.
Barry was disgusted but knew why. Trams weren't for everyone.
When Randall was finished puking, he moaned. He needed a little time to rest. "I need some water."
"Here." Barry gave him one of his water bottles. They were near an alley.
Randall drank some water. "No more trams, Barry. My stomach can't take the motions. I can handle a city bus better."
"Okay. Sorry about that."
"Felt like a roller coaster to me. I hate those things."
"I think they're fun." Barry said.
"Only kids would. Once you get older, the fun isn't what it used to be." Randall stated. "If not walking, we're taking buses. Travel buses, not school buses. Would you normally be in school at this time?"
"Yes but getting to my aunt's is more important." Barry replied.
"Yeah, you are right in a case like this."
Randall rested for a bit then they continued on foot. He turned invisible to hide from other humans. He just followed the boy.
Soon, they found a bus stop and got on a bus that was bound for the side of the city of Barry's aunt's house. After a thirty minute ride, they got off and continued on foot from there. Randall had ridden inside the bus this time. He had been on the seat next to him by the window.
From there it was a three mile walk. It was late afternoon by the time they got to Barry's aunt's house. "There it is, Randall." The boy pointed.
"Finally. That was quite a journey across the city to just get here." Randall stated. "I'm ready for a nap."
