The Kindle and Sony Reader have various versions. The ones I am talking about are Sony Reader Daily Edition and Kindle 2. Before getting an ereader, the 3 functions I'd consider are these:
Number one that is feature: Store file and size format
You want to ensure you will have a huge collection of titles to select from, when it comes to ereaders. Amazon now offers about 600,000 ebooks for download but you are limited to the Amazon publication format (AZW) [http://www.ereadercomparison.co/ ereader comparisons]. The Sony reader and Nook on the other hand support the standard that is ePub in addition to the standard PDF. This basically means two things:
1)You can get your hand son ANY novel on the internet using the ePub format (this includes Google's 1,000,000 books).
2)If you ever wish to get another reader all you have to do is make sure they support the ePub standard. Therefore, you will not lose any bought books you've ever made.
Feature number two: Disk Size
I wish to be able to hold as many novels as you can. While using Kindle 2 you're stuck with that disc size.
Feature number 3: Battery Life
Since we should replace the "actual" publications we want do not want to be restricted to some nearby outlet as much as you possibly can. The Nook just supports 10 days of battery life, the Kindle supports 14 days as well as the Sony reader supports a whapping 18 days.
