When Bellamy arrived back from the Grounder camp, he came bearing Lily's items and a Raven who was relentless to see her best friend. Raven had seen Lily come through the camp's gates clung to Bellamy, but when she questioned Clarke about it, the girl wouldn't answer. It was only when Bellamy came through the camp gates himself, after talking to Lexa, that the girl got an answer.

"Lily!" Raven exclaimed, rushing to Lily's side as Bellamy plopped down Lily's things beside her bed and placed her blanket on top of her to keep the girl warm.

"Rae!" Lily shouted back, happy to see her best friend's face. Lily didn't want to stay in Medbay, but somehow, seeing Raven's face, made her feel more relaxed, more safe. Raven carried this calming energy with her, and when she stepped foot into the medbay, she passed on the calmness to Lily.

"Are you okay? Bellamy told me what happened and-" Raven was horrified to find out what happened to Lily. She wanted the girl to live life like a child, not being put in pain constantly at the hands of the evil world. Yet, it seemed like the world came at those who wanted to live the most, the innocent, the naive, those who deserved better.

"Raven, I'm fine. Jackson sewed up the wound on my head and he said I've got like a minor concussion, but he basically cleared me so let's go," Lily replied, getting herself off the bed. She wanted to leave the medbay, even if she couldn't leave camp. Being there, seeing everyone, it made her feel physically sick, not just because of her concussion, but because of the memories that stuck in her mind like fingerprints stuck on glass. They could fade, but there was always a trace, and with the right trigger they could be found.

Bellamy was quick to push her back down but removed his hand when he received an annoyed slap from Lily. "Lily, Jackson said you have to rest and stay overnight. I hardly think what you're planning counts as rest."

"He never said I couldn't leave. C'mon Bellamy, I've been cooped up in a medical centre or a cell all my life," Lily told the man, giving him puppy eyes to weaken his defences.

Bellamy stared at Lily with his arms crossed, not wanting to budge, but looking at her face and thinking about what she had gone through, his defence weakened. After a sigh of defeat, Bellamy allowed Lily to go with Raven. "Fine, but if you get into any trouble and hurt yourself anymore don't count on me to come get you."

"Thank you!" Lily said joyously as she pulled Raven out of the medbay and into the fresh air.

"So, tell me Lily, what's it's like being a grounder?" Raven asked, initiating a conversation as the two walked around the camp. Lily looked around amazed. When she originally came back after the massacre, she hadn't really had the time, or energy, to take it all in, but now, as she did, she was honestly astonished by the sights, even in the darkness.

"Let me think. It's actually great to be honest. Some grounders still see me as skycrew scum but the majority have gotten used to me, especially since Lexa's my mentor." Lily was grateful for the life she was now living, a life where she could be accepted for who she was, where she could flourish as a person for the first time ever.

"Wow, first name basis with the commander, you must be special then." Raven joked, nudging Lily's shoulder and laughing. Raven was happy to see Lily happy for once, because Raven knew all Lily had been through, the horrors up on the Ark and even on the ground, and now seeing that smile on Lily's face and hearing a proper laugh, Raven knew things were looking up for her friend.

"Oh you bet I am. I'm not even scared of her. Aden is though. He's Lexa's favourite novitiate but he's so scared of her. It's really funny." Lily liked being able to catch up with Raven without any mention of death or war or anything like that. They were just two best friends gossiping.
