Her lips were warm and familiar against mine. They tasted like salt from her tears and were wet with them. Our lips moved together, in an experienced and practiced way. Out of habit, my tongue traced her lower lip and her lips parted, allowing me entrance. My tongue slipped in and explored and she shuddered.
She pulled away slowly and leaned her forehead against mine. Her eyes weren't dull like they had been since Dominic died. They were still dark, but they had a small brightness to them. I smiled softly.
"Sam, I never stopped loving you. I've been wanting to do that since I left. But I told myself I couldn't be with a cheater, a liar. I wanted someone true and honest. So I called Dominic and we went on a date and then we started dating and I loved him. I've been in love with you this whole time though." She whispered.
I leaned back and sighed.
"Jordan, I don't know what to think! You left me without giving me any chance to explain. You didn't say goodbye, you never texted or called. You left me in the dark for over six months! And now, after Dominic died, you're here saying you still love me? Are you sure? I don't think so. I think I'm just a rebound. Someone who will comfort you until you're over it and find someone new. I don't want to be some rebound, Jordan. I'll be here for you and if you really want to be with me, prove it."
I laid down on my bed and closed my eyes. I heard Jordan follow me and sit down by me.
She started whispering, assuming I fell asleep.
"You'll never be a rebound.... I love you."
She played with my hair and eventually I did fall asleep.
********
I woke up to the sound of glass being thrown away. I opened my eyes to see Jordan getting rid of all my alcohol. To my surprise, I didn't move. I just stayed laying down.
"Jordan? What are you doing? It's... 11:00 at night. Holy shit, how long did I sleep for?!" I sat up quickly.
"Sam just go back to sleep. I'll probably go to bed soon. I have to get rid of all the alcohol and I'm staying to watch you. Remember?"
Oh. I had forgotten.
"Oh yeah. Well I'm gonna go out to grab something to eat, ok? I'm starving and nothing here sounds good." I said.
Jordan nodded and grabbed a jacket and shoes.
"Uh, Jordan, I meant by myself.."
She laughed.
"No way. I'm not stupid. You're not going out alone at eleven at night. Too many bars. We can grab some food together and then come back here to sleep. Got it?"
I rolled my eyes. She hasn't changed much.
"Ok, mom."
She laughed again as we walked to my amazing car.
"That's a seriously fucked relationship." She said as she took my hand. I laughed and nodded.
We ended up getting tacos that were really good. Until Harry and Maddy walked in, their arms around each other.
Jordan looked at me in shock.
"What? They're together?"
I shook my head.
"Nah. They're probably just hanging out."
Harry looked at me, obviously surprised. An evil look crossed his face right before he pushed his lips against Maddy's.
"Or maybe not."
