#ENTRY-10

Today is Mingyu's birthday. We had breakfast with his family, and then there was a big banquet hosted by his uncle in the evening.

Mingyu and I welcomed all the guests as the hosts and the party was going well as planned. I saw that everyone was enjoying themselves, which made me feel relieved. Seokmin took Mingyu away, saying he wanted to introduce him to some investors, and I nodded as I watched them walk away.

Vernon-nim, Minghao-nim, Junhui Hyung, Joshua, and the others were by the beverage table, laughing and talking. The party took place in the large gardens of the Park mansion. Halfway through the party, I noticed one of the kids had spilled juice, so I stopped the staff member who was going to get towels and said I'd handle it instead. The staff member bowed and thanked me.

I went into the kitchen to grab a few towels. Just as I turned around with the towels in hand, I saw Jeonghan leaning against the doorway to the garden, looking chic in a designer suit. He smiled when I looked at him.

This time, I spoke calmly, "How is the party?"

"It's good. Lots of extravagant and pointless decorations, typical of rich kid parties," he replied.

"I see. Well then, I hope you enjoy it," I said, walking past him to go to the gardens, but he blocked my way with his body.

"Can't go a while without seeing that brat? Do you like him now? What about that Hong—"

Something inside me broke at that moment. I looked at his handsome face with anger in my eyes. "Why do you always find something wrong with Mingyu? What has he done to deserve your scorn and anger?"

Jeonghan looked stunned, his smirk wiped off his face. I continued, my voice rising with every word, "You know what, Jeonghan? I think you are a selfish and pathetic person. No matter what you do, you can never beat Mingyu!"

I pulled my hand from his grip and walked to the other side of the kitchen, heading toward the hallway, which led to the courtyards. The courtyards were not well-maintained; the grass was overgrown, which is why people preferred not to go that way.

It wasn't a quick walk to reach the party venue, but I preferred it to passing by Jeonghan, who was standing at the main door to the garden.

Just as I took a few steps out the door and stepped onto the overgrown grass, a hand yanked me back with such force that I stumbled and dropped the towels I was holding.

Jeonghan's eyes were wild as he looked at me. "You ask me what Mingyu did to deserve my anger? Then WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THE HELL MY LIFE HAS BEEN?"

I looked at him, shocked. He gripped my wrist so tightly that I cried out in pain, but he didn't stop. "HE TOOK EVERYTHING THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE MINE AWAY FROM ME!"

"Before he was born since Mingyu's father didn't have any kids at the time, that greedy chairman accepted me as a legitimate heir. But once Mingyu was born, he cut me and my mother off completely!"

"Did you know how hard it was? My mother worked three jobs to raise me! We were so poor that we could only afford one meal a day..."

"When I heard the truth about my worthless father, I thought I had my only chance to give my mother the life she deserved! I begged that bastard Chairman to help my mom out! He said yes, agreeing to cover all her hospital treatment costs and move her into his hospital, on the condition that I work for him instead!"
