" Aki! Get down from there!"

"I just..wanna get my balloon! Daddy!"

The small voice strained as smaller hands reached out to the high tree branch, it was, like any other day at the Juuoku Estate, little Aki, the Childe, outside playing with his own trinkets and one of them happened to be a balloon he'd gotten from a friend's birthday party.

That little voice let out a small gasp when he was suddenly picked up and much taller, tall enough to grab his balloon before being placed back down on the ground, looking up to meet the eyes of his favorite person; daddy.

"Thank you..!" Aki smiled, his dad smiled a small one and made sure to secure the red balloon around Aki's wrist.

"There, shouldn't be going astray anytime soon, next time don't get to climbing okay sticks?" Juuoku Sr. had to be a little stern with his little one this time around, they've had this conversation before.

"I won't do it again," Aki didn't really mean that but he'd say it so his dad wouldn't be upset with him. He doesn't like seeing his dad upset—honestly it's almost as scary as sleeping in his own bed.

"Good," Taikun dropped the base in his voice in a second. "Now, come along, the maids have been waiting for your bath."

How dare he.

Aki immediately jumped at the forbidden word 'bath' he didn't like bath-time. He was almost four but he could recognize that bath time was shortly before bed time, where he'd be in the dark, alone.

"I don't wanna go to bed! I don't wanna!" The whining was egregious and loud.

Taikun did not give the small heir the satisfaction of a reaction and continued to carry him inside the manor with all the kicking and screaming, it's not like it was doing much to the man anyway.

"I'll be up in five, try to make it quick." He said handing Aki off to Mrs. Cadence, who took the little boy with tenderness, but also being mindful to not drop the boy—that's be her head if such a thing were to happen.

"Yes sir." She said not another word before she took him upstairs with all the wailing and screaming that, at least in the five minutes it took for Taikun to make it up the stairs eventually reduced to small sniffles and annoyed and very cute expressions. It was a miracle that he let her take the balloon off of his wrist.

Aki sat in the bath, looking as angry as he could at the maids—who'd he equate to torturers—around him. He said he didn't like bath time damnit!

"You sure do cause a fuss," Taikun entered the bathroom, almost immediately the boy's angry face seemed a little less upset.

"I don't wanna go to bed!" Sure he was a baby but he wasn't a stupid one—and it was the weekend!

"I know, I know, but baby tomorrow's a big day, we're going to go see mom and pop, and you know you are tired in the mornings," Taikun saw no harm in soaping up the boy's already soapy head, he knew it was soothing.

"Still I don't wanna go to sleep." For a baby who sleeps as much as he did he sure did make his disdain for it so known.

Dad wouldn't lie, washing his son with this cute little grump on his face never got old. It was so adorable, especially how clearly forced his tears were.

He almost, almost let him slide. Again.

"Well I'm not arguing with my three year old, up now." Taikun took Aki from the bath and motioned for a towel, courtesy of the maids.

Aki made sure to pout the entire time he was being cleaned. He didn't like this. He didn't like how they didn't like how he didn't like this.

After twenty minutes of world war three with an infant Taikun got Aki into bed.

Taikun put all the blankets in the world on the bed, Aki ran cold just like he did.

"Alright—daddy loves you," He placed a kiss on his son's little nose.

"Wait! Don't leave!" Aki sat up quickly as soon as he saw his dad even begin to stand up.

Taikun let out a chuckle, he wasn't going anywhere, he was just going to turn the light off. "Im not leaving, just going to turn off the lights." He did just that, made sure to turn on his son's nightlight though.

The nobleman got into bed with his son and cuddled next to him. "I'll sleep in here tonight,"

Aki smiled to himself, he was a genius. And then he went to sleep..
