Chapter 14 | Blame Ovulation

Start from the beginning

He chuckles softly, his eyes locked on you as he walks beside you, the cocky tone in his voice loud and clear. "Oh, but I disagree, Teach. I think that kiss was a game-changer. And I can get more confident if I want."

You scowl as you glance at him at the corner of your eye. You shouldn't have let him kiss you that night. Now he's even more annoying, cocky, and confident. You try to ignore him, but his presence is impossible to ignore.

You and Mr. Gojo finally make it to Mr. Nakamura's classroom and walk inside. "Morning," You say to Mr. Nakamura, bowing a bit.

"Morning, Mr. Nakamura," Mr. Gojo greets him after you, his smirk not faltering.

Mr. Nakamura looks up from his desk and smiles at you both as you enter the room. "Ah, good morning to you both," He returns the greetings, his eyes flickering between you and Mr. Gojo, as if he knows something's up. He gestures towards the seats, his smile unwavering, "Please, take a seat."

You take your seat at the usual student desk you've been sitting at for these meetings. Mr. Gojo follows your lead and takes his seat, still wearing that same smug grin on his lips. He glances over at you from his seat, silently admiring your features.

As Mr. Nakamura starts the usual department meeting, Mr. Gojo's focus drifts, his mind wandering as he watches you from his seat. He can't help but let his thoughts take over, his mind replaying the memory of the kiss from the other night over and over again, a content and satisfied smile on his lips.

"Ms. L/N...you got the highest passing rate with a 98%. Good job," Mr. Nakamura says to you with a soft smile.

You nod as you smile back, glad you got the highest passing rate. "Thank you," You say as you glance at Mr. Gojo, only to see his smile instantly fall as he hears Mr. Nakamura's words, scowling now.

Went from high to low...

Mr. Gojo can't help but feel a pang of competitiveness as Mr Nakamura praises you for having the highest passing rate. He gives you a subtle frown, the sight of your smirk at him adding fuel to his already growing irritation. He crosses his arms, his eyes narrowing as he leans back in his seat next to yours. "Show off," He mutters under his breath.

You shrug, clearly happy seeing him irritated and annoyed now. "It seemed like my students weren't distracted that it was Halloween..." You say smugly.

Mr. Gojo scoffs silently, his eyes still fixed on you as he listens to your response. The mention of distractions only serves to irk him more. He wants to be the one who does better, not you.

He uncrosses his arms, shifting in his seat as he lets out a soft huff. "Yeah, my class was a total shitshow that day," He mutters under his breath.

"Well, your classes had a 93% passing rate, Mr. Gojo. That's still very good," Mr. Nakamura says to Mr. Gojo, seemingly trying to lift his spirits.

Mr. Gojo lets out a small huff, his competitive nature still itching inside him. He can't argue with the compliment, but he still can't help but wish it was even higher. "Yeah, but I could've gotten even better if those brats weren't so damn distracted by the damn holiday," He mutters grumpily.

"Oh, don't act like you weren't egging them on and making them distracted," You chastise him.

Mr. Gojo scowls at your remark, his irritation at being called out instantly kicking in. He knows he was absolutely egging on the kids, encouraging them to be even more excited for Halloween and trick or treating after school. But, he's not going to just admit that to you, no way in hell.

He clicks his tongue and crosses his arms, his frown deepening. "Hmph, I was not," He huffs, his voice laced with stubbornness.

Mr. Nakamura chuckles at the exchange between you and Mr. Gojo. He glances between you both, a small smile playing on his lips as he continues the meeting. "Alright, moving on then..."
