Chapter 1: The Mysterious Boy

I don't own the TMNT 2012 series; they belong to Nickelodeon. Inspiration for Danny's powers comes from Marvel's Scarlet Witch.
Hey everyone! This is one of my side stories alongside Kingdom Hearts: Heroes in A Half-Shell. I'll be posting chapters for both to keep a nice balance between them.
I've been wanting to write this story for a while. I jotted down a bunch of ideas for an original character named Danny — a human with hidden Scarlet Witch-inspired powers along with other character inspirations who struggles with them at first. He has his own personality, strengths, weaknesses, and story arcs (I really wanted to make sure he wasn't a self-insert). He'll learn and grow with guidance from the Turtles (especially a certain hothead), April, Casey, and Master Splinter. He bonds with the whole team, and makes friendships especially with Raphael.
I also want to explore more of the Turtles' adventures that the show didn't get to showcase enough it wouldn't be a TMNT story without the Turtles! I hope you guys enjoy Chapter 1!!

Chapter 1: The Mysterious Boy

It was just another day in the Lair. The four brothers were relaxing after their recent weird LARP adventure. They had role-played their favorite game, Mazes and Mutants... well mostly Leo's, Mikey's, and Donnie's, encountered a mutant sparrow named Sir Malachi aka Martin Milton who turned the game into reality with illusions. The turtles had broken through the illusions, stopped Martin, and even forgiven and befriended him afterward.

Leo was in the dojo practicing with his katanas. Raph lounged on the couch reading a comic book while Mikey watched an episode of Super Robo Mecha Force Five. Donnie was in his lab, tinkering with more tech to fix his inventions.

While running an experiment, the Kraang communication tracker began beeping. Donnie looked up. "Huh. Another signal. Wonder what's up now..."

He walked into the common room holding the tracker. "Guys, the Kraang comms tracker is going haywire again. Signal's faint, but it's pointing somewhere out in the city."

Leo, Raph, and Mikey looked over and nodded. Leo stood up. "Alright, team. Let's gear up. We're heading topside to check this out."

They quickly gathered their gear and left the Lair. Once topside, they piled into the Shellraiser and sped across the city toward the signal.

Raph twirled a sai. "So what's the deal, Don? The Kraang's using this place for more mutation experiments or what?"

"No clue yet," Donnie answered. "Whatever it is, the readings are off the charts. Crazy energy levels I can't even identify."

Leo leaned forward. "You saying the Kraang are cooking up something dangerous for their next invasion?"

"It's possible," Donnie replied. "We won't know for sure till we get there. My analyzer should pick up whatever this energy is."

Mikey pumped his fist. "The Kraang are gonna regret messing with the greatest ninjas ever! And after we kick some alien butt, we are totally hitting Murakami's for pizza gyoza!"

Raph rolled his eyes. "You better not hog the whole pack this time, Mikey. Last time you almost inhaled every single piece."

Mikey mock-gasped. "Hey! I left you guys the other pieces... just not all of them!"

As the signal grew stronger, Leo rallied them. "We're getting close. We'll park around the corner, guys."

The Shellraiser rolled to a stop. Up ahead stood an abandoned warehouse. The four brothers climbed out and slipped inside.

The Abandoned Warehouse...

The air was thick with ozone and flickering lights. Wires pulsed faintly with energy, but the place looked half-shut down, like the Kraang had left in a hurry. Donnie's scanner pulsed steadily with untraceable readings. It wasn't mutagen, nor Kraang tech. It was something stranger. The brothers kept a sharp eye out for droids, but they hadn't seen any yet. They still didn't let their guard down.
