30 minutes later, and guidance from custodian and I finally stumble across the correct department, tucked in the corner of the top floor.

I walk into the office with no windows and see Mik sucking on a lollypop with her feet resting on her desk. She leans back in her chair but makes eye contact with me, not moving. Her computer is shut off. It doesn't look like she's working, just casually hanging out.

"Hey, I've been thinking of you," Mik says as she takes her feet down from her desk, inching closer to me. She takes her lollypop from her mouth and grins. "Long time no see."

I smile at her. It's been too long. "I've been thinking of you too. I tried to find you the other day with no luck."

That makes me feel like a little bit of a stalker, but hopefully it doesn't come off like that.

"It's because we love to hide." She cups her hand around her mouth. "There is a reason why we like to be here in the corner. It's by Georg's design."

I think of all the people that walk by my office on the first floor. It's lively. Busy. I like it. But I imagine, it's nice to have the peace and quiet up here. "People are always coming pass my office."

"Where are you again?"

"1072."

"Ah, that makes sense. Same suite as Lindsay. Well. It's settled. We should hang out. You're cool and I'm cool. Have any plans tonight?"

At least she thinks I'm cool too. I shake my head. It's Friday and that is always saved for James. But I can skip on pizza and video games. We do that every Friday. He won't miss one day. Hanging out with Mik sounds so much cooler. I don't want to leave her waiting. "No plans."

She puts her lollypop in her mouth pushed a jar of suckers towards me. "Want one?"

I shake my head. "No thanks."

"It's probably better for you. My dentist tells me they will rot my teeth." Her smiles only grows.

And I grin at her.

She clears her throat. "So what's that?" she nods towards the wrapped gift.

"This is for Goerg," I say as I place it in front of Mik.

"Ah, is it from Lisa then?"

I nod.

She picks it up and gives it a small shake. "I'll be sure to give it to her."

"So those two are close?" I ask, trying to learn more about my mysterious supervisor who is never around.

"The closest. They are always doing things together. There aren't many women in engineering, specially here in this building. I think they want to stay together. I heard they made a girl gang like two decades ago. So bad ass. So are you in?"

I shake my head. "In for what?" I feel stupid for not following. But there has to be something I missed.

"Making a girl gang." She chuckles. "With me."

"We won't be committing any crimes, right?"

She shrugs. "Probably not. But time will tell."

"Ah, what the hell. I'm in."

"Excellent."

"Mik! Can you run down and get some parking passes from CampusParc? Just got an email saying that they were ready for pickup." A woman's voice rings out from down a small hall.

She stands then cracks her fingers in one swift motion. "Duty calls."

"We are still on for tonight, right?"
