Stepping into their relationship era    ───────────────────

It was another school day, and for Aiah and Jhoanna, nothing much had changed on the surface—at least to everyone else. They were still going to school together, still eating recess and lunch together. They looked like the same old trio with Sheena.

Except now, there was a secret that only Sheena knew.

As they walked down the hallway, the three of them were chatting lightly. Aiah, as always, wanted to walk Jhoanna all the way to her room. The problem? Jhoanna’s classroom was all the

way at the farthest end of the hallway, while Aiah’s was much closer along the way.

“Queen, dito ka na” Jhoanna said, stopping when they reached the part of the hallway where Aiah’s room was just a few steps away. “Hahatid na kita sa room mo. Okay lang 'yon promise” Aiah replied, stubborn as always.

Jhoanna turned and gave her a sharp look, the kind that said no arguments. When they were just friends, that look didn’t bother Aiah much—she’d just grin and keep going. But now? They weren’t just friends anymore. They were girlfriends. And Aiah was completely, hopelessly downbad.

So, for the first time, that sharp look actually made her… hesitate. She let out a long sigh, shoulders slumping in defeat.

From beside them, Sheena was grinning like she was watching her favorite drama unfold. “Wala pala ‘to e,” she teased, shaking her head. “Under.”

Aiah turned to glare at her. “Excuse me?”
Sheena just chuckled, unbothered. “Under… standing kasi,” she added with a sly grin, drawing out the word to make her point.

Jhoanna, trying not to laugh, shifted her bag and gently tugged Sheena’s sleeve. “Sheena, tara na. Malalate na tayo.”

Sheena nodded, still smirking. “Oo nga. Diyan ka na, Ate Aiah.”

Jhoanna turned back to Aiah. “Bye, Queen.”

But before she could walk away, Aiah reached out and held her wrist. She was pouting, eyes soft like a puppy begging for attention. “Wala bang hug?”

Sheena groaned dramatically. “Ate Aiah, magkikita pa tayo sa recess. Ilang oras lang 'to.”

Jhoanna rolled her eyes but couldn’t hide the smile tugging at her lips. “Ang kulit mo talaga…” she muttered, before giving in. She stepped closer and hugged Aiah briefly.

As they pulled away, she leaned in and whispered in Aiah’s ear, her voice low so no one else could hear, “Swap seat. Layuan mo si Jeremy.”
