Panic

Chapter fourteen:

AJ Lynch 🏑

Sheer panic is all I felt as I rushed after Caitlin Biggs.
One because I hate when she cries because someone says something mean about Maddie, she just feels so deeply in a way i'll never understand.

And two , because I know she is going to tell Maddie what I said to the lads and she will 100% never forgive me.

I look around the halls for Caitlin and feel helpless until I see her in the fifth year common room , curled up on one of the couches , crying.

I slowly approach, trying not to startle her.

"Caitlin , can we t-talk?"

She turns around to look at me and a mix of emotions are all over her face.
Disappointment.
Sadness.
Helplessness.

"Why would I want to talk to you"

"Please Caitlin , it's about Maddie"

"Oh so you care about her now , when my brother and Rory aren't around?"

"No Caitlin , I really like her and I screwed everything up and the lads saw me comfort her during PE and then I panicked that they would laugh at me or tell my da so I said that about her"

Caitlin glares at me before responding.
"Your a coward , she is such a nice girl with a hard life , the last thing she needs is a lad who's ashamed of her"

"I'm not ashamed of her Caitlin, i've had time to think and I really want to be with her , I just need to make things right"

She looks at me, and I can tell she doesn't believe me.

"Caitlin please I need you to help me, she isn't answering any of my texts or calls and I need to talk to her"

"If it makes you feel any better she hasn't texted or called me back either" She mutters.

"Do you think somethings wrong?"

"I don't know, maybe"

"What's her apartment number , I know what building she lives in but I don't know the apartment number"

Caitlin looks at me , like i'm crazy for even suggesting just showing up to her apartment.
"Do you seriously think Bella Wilkinson will be happy to see AJ Lynch at her door ?, you'll get Maddie in so much trouble"

"Sure she would be working , wouldn't she?"

Caitlin grunts in response.
"Yeah right , she's probably not working but i'd say she's not home, now I am only telling you this because I believe you and believe you have good intentions with my best friend and she deserves to finally be happy"

She glares at me before adding.
"But .. AJ Lynch , if you break her heart , you will be one very sorry boy , got it?"

I nod.
