Chapter 1

Rain is pouring hard this night. The road is filled with water due to heavy rain. It seems like it's gonna flood soon.

In this night, there's a man staying in his room, sitting by the window, thinking about his life. Meanwhile there's another man staying in his room filled with document and file that need to be checked.

Some people look similar in a way of dressing but actually living a very different lifestyle.

Zhang Heiyu pov

"Give me the money right now!" A man double my size said punching my face. He came with several man and I can't fight them all alone.

"I don't have money yet." I said begging him to spare my life. I sat on the floor in pain after he punch my stomach.

He punch me again and again making me unable to stand. He grab my wallet and take all of the money inside it.

"Please please don't take it. I need to buy food with it. Please have mercy on me. That's all I have." I said begging for mercy.

He kicked my head and I fall on the ground in pain. I hold onto his leg crying and begging him to give my money back. He beat me up and just left me there lying in pain.

I stand up and walk slowly to my house. My head and body is too painful to walk . I just sat there on the ground to ease my pain.

Jiang Rui pov

I woke up this morning and made myself some coffee before starting to revise some crime case.

I walk to my table and found a pendrive that I lost yesterday. I take the pendrive and plug it into my laptop.

There's a photo and some details in the pendrive. The evidence of the crime that just happen is all complete in it.

I look at it throughly before starting to go and check it at the place of crime in two days.

I close the laptop and continue with my files. The files contain information about the suspect in this case.

"What should I do to check on the autopsy if there's no fingerprint on the scene?" I ask myself after I'm stuck with this problem.

The crime scene left nothing behind. It's almost like it's done by some expert. It's pretty hard to look for evidence if the scene is this clean.

Being stuck with this issue, I went to the sofa behind me and lay down.

'I need to find out this problem. I can't let it hanging like this.' I thought to myself.

Zhang Heiyu pov

I woke up to a sound of a car honk. I look around and realize that I'm at the side of the road still soaking in blood. I must have fallen asleep after being beaten up so hard.

I try to stand up and I feel a sharp pain in my abdomen. Despite the pain, I still strengthen myself to continue walking to my house.

"What should I do now? I don't know how to look for the money to pay him back." I said mumble to myself.

Once I arrived home, I quickly went to my room and grab a first aid kit. Luckily, I bought it yesterday when I'm coming home from work.

I apply the ointment on the injury and wrap it nicely with a bandage so that I would not get a bacterial infection.

After finish cleaning and dressing my wound, I lay down on the bed thinking about how to find more money to pay the debt.

My job as a restaurant waiter is not enough to pay him back. Also, he added some interest on the debt because I paid late.

'I need to find a way to pay him back before he kills me'. I thought before I drift to a deep sleep.
