When Chi-Chi laid eyes on her, her heart sank. I mean, who wouldn't? The little girl who stood just a couple feet away from her looked like she slept in her own filth. She was small and fragile, and looked out of touch with the whole world.
As a mother, Chi-Chi could not bear the sight that was laid out before her, how could anyone do such a thing? She walked to up to the girl, bent down to meet her gaze, the little girl looked back at her,with wide uncertain eyes.
"Hey, sweetheart..."
She spoke gently as to not spook the child.
"What's your name?-"
Before she could even utter what she was about to say, a bald older man yelled out.
"HEY YOU! Don't go talking to her!"
He barked at Chi-Chi, tugging on the rope that was tied around the girls waist causing her to stumble as she was pulled back.
"I'm simply trying to initiate a conversation, Sir."
Chi-Chi said in a sarcastic and dry tone, this guy was probably the one selling the kid.
"Got the money to initiate the conversation? Oh, and she hasn't got a name, parents didn't give her one."
He snapped back, which irritated Chi-Chi to the bone.
...." He's really testing my nerves."....
She thought to herself, looking back down at the girl, the people around them, it's like no one cared, no one batted an eye to the scene, as if it were the norm. She had to do something, she remembered that she still had enough money from shopping earlier, betting that the man didn't sell the kid for much,she took it out and in one swift motion grabbed the girl and didn't even lend him the money.
"I'm not paying you piece of shit! She's not property!!!"
She yelled out as she scooped the girl up into her arms and ran down the street as the man chased behind them.
She could absolutely take on the guy, but with the little girl being caught in the crossfire, she needed to keep her safe first.
She looked around and eventually spotted her husband, Goku.
"Goku!"
She shouted, stopping just Infront of her husband and sons.
"Uh yeah Chi-Chi?"
He said confused, his eyes widened abit as he saw the small girl in Chi-Chi's arms
"Where did you get that Chi-Chi???"
He asks, in his usual attitude.
Chi-Chi simply pushed passed him and handed her shopping to Gohan, she seemed to have lost the man.
"Call Krillin. Know."
She said firmly, the tiny girl still snug in her arms, unmoving and unsure of what to do, this definitely wasn't something she expected to happen..
