Mikami Kumiko.

Company 8 newest addition to the team. She was recommended by an anonymous source, insisting her skills could be of use with anything they may need. After multiple calls, urging her to join, she denied plenty, before caving in under unfortunate circumstances.

It's been 3 months with the team and she found out all sorts of things. The biggest one being artificially made infernos. She remembers her skin crawling from the information. Who would in their right mind would set someone ablaze out of random? Was it random? Were they pick out first hand? Why turn them to begin with? It was all so much, especially from her personal experience.

Mikami laid in her bunk, obsessing over these facts to see where the pattern laid. If she can find that, then maybe there was something her and the team could prevent.

A heavy sigh left her mouth, feeling homesick. She planned to visit, but not much could be done. She has a job that requires her attendance majority of the week and in all honesty, she's been avoidant of her home town because of personal matters as well, so she never went through with visiting.

"Mikami, we're gonna head out to get some lunch. Wanna join?", Maki offered.

She simply shook her head, not having an appetite. The food here wasn't bad, but it didn't come close to the home made stuff she was used to, "No thanks. I'll see you guys when you get back"

Maki nodded, leaving out with the others. Mikami wasn't sure what to do with her free time, so she sorta roamed the building, stopping at the gym to see if she can get some training done. It was becoming a daily thing with her.

Her orange jumpsuit was tied around her waist leaving the top of her body clothed with a sports bra. It was hot around this time of year and rolled up sleeves wasn't cutting it. Her body ran hot, so she needed the top of her body to get as much breeze as possible.

She lifted the weights, doing her primary sets when almost half an hour later she heard a noice.

"Ahem"

She dropped the weights to her side, immediately putting her suit over her shoulders, fixing herself. She immediately turned around to face none other than the lieutenant.

"Lieutenant Hinawa", she observed awakwardly. "I assumed you would've been out with the others"

He adjusted his glasses, shaking his head briefly, "I had some work to catch up on", he set down the papers he had in hand, along with a bag, taking a seat at one of the bench presses.

Her brows risen cautiously, wondering why he had stopped like that. Didn't he say he needed to work?

Mikami P.O.V

"Well I finished my set, so I should get going", I tried to rush past him, but he stopped me with his hand.

"Have you eaten?", his words sounding strict and bored.

"No sir", I answered.

He grabbed a sandwich from his bag and handed it to me, "It's important you eat. Staying healthy is crucial"

My heart pinged, the gesture being familiar. Unknowingly my lips twisted and I had to catch myself that this was my Lieutenant speaking and not him.

I accepted the food with a small smile, "Thank you". I walked back to my bunk, taking small bites of the sandwich to ease my arising hunger, wondering when the rest would be back. Lunch last an hour every Friday, so about another half hour I would see them.
