Chapter 18

The rain started to come down and my head started to become a little clearer. I couldn't smell her anymore so I just stopped. It was as if the blood rage was over. My brothers must have felt the same way ,well all except Simon. We all stopped but Simon didn't.

"We have to go get him." Gale yelled as the rain pelted the branches of the trees. I stood there for a second finally realizing what I had done. I almost, no probably killed Marisa and I don't know where she is now. Lucy could do anything with her and it's my fault. I was snapped out of my thoughts by Ryan.

"Come on" he yelled over the thunder."Don't just stand there Jude. Simon needs us." I nodded my head and began to use my supernatural speed like the rest of them. Simon wasn't that far ahead of us and I was scared for him as we hopped from tree to tree.

"Simon stop." Daniel yelled. He was the closest to Simon. "Don't do this Simon remember what happened with Rose don't do it again please." Daniel begged. Simon stopped in his tracks we all did as well on whatever tree we're on. We waited in silence until Simon turned to us. His eyes were pitch black.

"Do not talk about her." Simon snarled at us. He didn't want us to talk about her but we needed too.
"Simon please don't don't follow anymore. The smells gone, It's cold,it's raining and I feel like we all need to repent over what we've done. We probably killed an innocent girl and now we don't know if she's dead or alive. I'm already torn up inside about it. We acted like pure monsters,like the true beasts we are. I don't ever want to do that again." I yelled to him. His response was a evil smile.

"That's exactly what we are Jude. We are the monsters you speak of. This is our job..the job to hunt. I want to know that she's not alive she has the best blood I've ever tasted and I want more. No one can stop me." He was a complete lunatic.We had to get the old Simon back. Gale heard my thoughts and nodded his head. Daniel and Ryan seemed to get it as well.

" Simon we don't want any harm and all we want is the best for you. So please don't go through with this. " Daniel pleaded with him yet again. Simon looked at us with a bored expression.

"I don't give a fuck. I'm going to hunt her down,drain her and then make sure she is dead." He turned away from us and then started to run. Before we could do anything Ryan shapeshifted into Simon's wife Rose.

"Simon stop" he said in her voice. Simon did stop and he turned back around.

"Rose" he said."Is it really you?" His expression had softened and his eyes turned to just a dark crimson.
"Yes it is." Ryan said continuing to pose as her. That gave Daniel and Gale enough time. Simon moved to another branch with his speed. "Come to me." Ryan told him. Just when he was about to move.

"Now" Gale yelled. Daniel came and held down his arms. Gale came around and snapped his neck. His limp body fell into Daniel.

"Thank goodness. I am never shape shifting into a woman again." Ryan's regular voice had returned. Also he was back in his form when I looked at him.
"Take Simon home you guys. I'm going to find Marisa." I told them. They gave me looks as if I was crazy.

"Are you crazy?" Gale said reading my thoughts. I shook my head.

"I have to find her. This is my fault, she was partially my responsibility." I explained to them. Daniel shook his head.
"No the scent's gone. It's raining and Hunters may be out. It's too risky Jude." Daniel's older sibling protectiveness was kicking in.
"I can handle it Daniel. No I'm saying this to all of you I can handle it. I promise to be back before the sun comes up. If I'm not then just think I found them."
"It's still a bit risky and you're my baby brother but I trust you and I believe you can do it. " Ryan said. "Now go find her. " I nodded my head and began to run. Somewhere in my run I heard Daniel.
"He's a stupid kid but he's my brother and I got to love him."
