Prologue

There are countless Ben Tennysons across the multiverse.

Some were heroes —  full of quips, wearing that green jacket and saving the day with a smile and a flash of green light.
Some learned to summon aliens instead of becoming them.
Some watched their world rot away, humanity turned into husks of who they used to be.
Some had their Omnitrixes corrupted, twisted into monstrous things that devoured their own identity.
Some died before they even got the chance to become someone.

But I am not here to talk about them. I am here to talk about him.

Not the teenage savior.

Not the boy with limitless potential.
Not the prime Ben Tennyson with the perfect moral compass and a heart bigger than his arsenal.

No.

This Ben.......... is arguably the worst Ben of all.

This Ben failed to save the world.

He lost everything. His team. His family. His friends.
He couldn't save them — not from the war, not from themselves... not from him.

He buried them alongside with his moniker of so called hero.
One by one. World by world.
Until all that was left was silence... and control.

He brought unity to the stars by burning down rebellion.
He ended conflict by ending civilizations.
And all the while, the Omnitrix stayed grew together... became sentient, always judging, whispering into his ears like some kind of symbiote.

To the outside, he was order. Strength. Justice.

But inside?

He was shattered glass. Guilt with a pulse. A tyrant wearing a dead boy's face.

This isn't a story about how Ben Tennyson became a hero.

This is a story about what happens when the universe gives the tyrant a second chance... in a world that still believes in heroes.

Dropped into a place that doesn't know what he's done.
That sees him as someone else — a kid. Quirkless. Ordinary.
With a mother who smiles at him like he didn't kill a million people.
Like he didn't destroy civilization older than the earth.

With friends who don't flinch when he walks by.
And with a girl who looks so much like her, it makes his ribs hurt.

He doesn't deserve it.

And yet...

This world — this second chance — it's either going to fix him...

Or he'll burn it down too.

All...
In the name of peace.
