chapter 1
Alexis
I just pulled the trigger.
again.
I watched as Romanoff Andre slumped on his seat, falling to the ground the moment the bullet made contact with his head. his blood staining the white posh carpet of the cruise ship.
Arranging my guns into my duffle bag, I watched as Romanoff's wife screams for help, guards rushing in to meet their boss on the floor drenched in his own blood.
I zipped up my bag and began my journey out the forest.' find the fucker who did this ', I smiled
I walked out the forest meeting the cold deserted road once again. Derek gave me a small smile as I dump my bag into the car.
" job done?". he asked, as I got in the back.
" target eliminated". I replied. he gave me a small approving nod, and closes the door after me.
I pulled out my phone and pressed on the power button. As soon as it came on I went on to my messages.
Alexa
'come back quickly, vera made dinner'
I read Alexa's text, unknowing anger bursting inside of me.
'sure'. I texted back.
................
Antonio Alexandro was a good father true, but he can be as cruel as they say. killing everything or everyone in the way just to remain in the game, being the worst nightmare of anyone who crosses his path.
1Having that scar on the side of his face, emotionless gray eyes, jet black hair and the kind of facial expression that screams 'Death zone'.
Being born into a family of head leading Mafias and mob bosses, your life must be kept hidden, buried deep down from the surface of the world.
living under a rock is not as bad as you think, obviously you'd have a dad who hate ur complete existence, a mouth blabbing soon to be step mom and a snubbing bitch for a sister, my life is just so satisfyingly great.
My màmà had always been a positive person or maybe only to me, I have always been her favorite. Thinking of her and knowing that she never wanted any of this, never wanted a life in the mafia or have children who grew up to be one of the most notorious assassins in the world, and I hate the thought of knowing that she wouldn't be happy wherever she is. I closed my eyes and portrayed her in my head, her forever glinting eyes that squints whenever she laughed, her pointy shaped nose and her rosy pink lips. Her red hair making a mess around her due to the direction of the wind.
I smiled, knowing that memory was from the vacation we took to hawaii few months before her departure, I remember the smile on her face as she ran in that white beach dress, her legs splashing the water as I chased her. A small laugh escaped my lips and I drove back to reality knowing fully well I am at the verge of tears.
I looked out the window and realized we made it back to the mansion safely,
"you alright." derek asked, I looked up at him and gave a tight smile
"Never better"
The footman opened the door, his hand outstretched for mine but as usual I declined them. He immediately redrew his hand and a 'good evening miss alexis' is murmured as I walked past him,
"Miss alexis your family are currently at dinner and your father requests your immediate arrival, you are twenty minutes late". ... thoughts ran in my head as I ponder further on the fact that I can't care less about their stupid dinner. "Get out of my face Martha, not today". I rasped, brushing her off.
" ok miss alexis...". she retorted with a slight chuckle, " I will get the fuck out but first u have to promise me you won't be mad at what you meet inside". she said walking by my side making sure we are a little distant from derek.
" why, did Antonio invite anyone?". I couldn't ignore the fact that she piqued my interest on this, she's been my best friend for a really long time and she is the only person to own my trust in the mansion.
"Yes" . she she said nodding with her response
"who". I turned staring at her with intrusive eyes
"I am not supposed to tell, but be warned and no bullets must be triggered". she chuckled as she retrieved her steps, "good night sis". she walked back to the garage
for a second I stood staring at the door before I pushed it, walking into the house and making my way into the spacious dining room. the sound of laughter, forks hitting knives, and the clatter of forks sliding on plates filled my ears as I walked in.
For a brief moment, silence filled the air I can literally hear a pin drop. all heads was turned to me and for some reason I felt the urge to rudely walk away from this seemingly awkward dinner.
For the first time in a really long time, I felt my body shudder at the sight before me. My eyes walked round the room, taking in the sight of men at the table. Some having women slurped at their arms in a lustful grasp.
The cloths they wore left nothing to the eye, tight petty dress that hug their bodies to the core. Their breast threatening to pull out of it's hold as they try taking a glance at the intrusion at their small party.
I couldn't stand any longer staring at them all as they grasp my appearance, their eyes practically undressing me. I readjust my stance, ready to walk to my room
"Ahhh, Alexis you decided to show up" Antonio said, I stopped at the spot as I turn my glance to him at the head of the table, my eyes finding Alexia at his side avoiding my stares and picking at her food.
I turned back to Antonio as I watch him chuckle at something his guest said, vera came into the room with a tray of freshly roasted chicken and sets it on the table. And that's when I noticed the ring on her finger.
It doesn't take me long to realize what occasion is being celebrated.
"As you wanted Romanoff is dead, I made sure of it". I didn't wait for a response before turning and made my way to my room. A part of me wanted to go back down and turn that shitty party into a blood bath massacre.
I rest my head on the door for a second to long hyperventilating, trying to hold back the tears that are starting to build up. How can he be so heartless, how can he take another wife instead of drowning himself in guilt the rest of his life.
I chuckled, pushing myself off the door and taking off my jacket. How can I even think of the sort of monster he is when I know his kind, a man who didn't even attend his wife's funeral. My fist tightened as I go through memory lane, remembering how thirteen year old me, Julian Martha's mother and Martha watch as her casket goes into the ground.
I trickle off that thought from my mind, and made my way to the bathroom. I quickly go over my routine and slipped on my night dress. I walked out of the bathroom and the faint sound of laughter sings into my room, I let out a sign not wanting them to get to me.
My mind goes through the event of today, replaying the scene in my head. I shut my eyes "rest in peace Romanoff, you didn't deserve it". I murmured, I closed my eyes and felt myself drift off to sleep, my body relaxes and a lone tear escaped my eye. I was to tired to wipe it away, too exhausted to think and I just let my self succumb to the darkness.
