Chapter 19 - The Visitor (Part 1)

It's been a week since everyone returned. Got7 had started to practice with us and JYP had started to make debut plans for us. We were all expected to debut before the end of 2015 but our official plans weren't arranged yet. For our showcase, Got7 was going to perform their title songs from both albums. Julie was going to do a solo dance and song. I was going to do a solo with a dance. Sohyun and Daehyun were going to do covers of various mashup songs. Then we were going to have one stage where the trainees and Got7 would dance to Dream High and the final stage where one person from each idol group and trainee group will collaborate and perform in pairs or triples. Before heading over to the dance studio, I decided to buy new leggings because the one I previously wore had a hole in it. As I was about to leave the entertainment, I accidently bumped into someone.

"I'm sorry!" I said to the person. She was pretty and tall. She had pale skin, long hair, skinny figure, and flawless arms and legs. She could be mistaken as a model any day. She was dusting off her shoulder and tucked her hair behind her ear.

"It's fine." She said. Her voice was nice too. "Do you know where I could meet an idol?"

"Are you a fan?" I asked her.

"No, just here to meet someone I know." She responded.

"You can ask the reception desk to ask for a visitor pass." I told her.

"I already tried but they said idol meetings were restricted until after the showcase." She said annoyed. "Are you a trainee here?"

"Yes. I've been training for two months or so." I said to her.

"Could you perhaps deliver something for me?" She said. She scavenged through her bag and pulled out a box and a letter. "This is for Mark Tuan. He's in Got7."

"Yeah I know him." I said taking the box and letter from her. "I'll give it to him." She nodded and headed out the door. I looked at the box and the letter and saw that her name wasn't written anywhere. "Hey!" I called out to her. "Your name isn't on here."

"Yeah, I know it's not. Mark will know it's from me though." She said and walked out of the entertainment. I wonder who she is.

Hyerim came into practice late today. She apologized and explained how she had to get new leggings because her old one had holes in them. She walked in with a box and letter though and set them off to the side. Then the Eunji noona gathered us together to explain the groups.

"Okay well the list of stage performances have been confirmed just now." She started. "The showcase will start from 3 and hopefully end by 7. The first performance will be held by 2PM. Following them will be Wonder Girls and then Miss A. After them is 2 AM who will only be able to do one song. 15& and Baek Ahyeon will collaborate for a stage. Sunmi unfortunately cannot attend so instead of her, Got7 will be performing your two title songs. Then Sohyun and Daehyun are going to be the first trainees to perform. Jacob, due to your late training, you will be introduced as JYP's trainee but won't be able to perform. Julie you will be performing after the twins and last but not least Hyerim will finish off the group performances. After her performance, there will be a short break during the showcase so that the fans can take a break too. After the break ends all twelve of you will perform Dream High." She informed us. "The collaboration stages have been set already too. The older sunbaes will create their own collaboration but you guys are arranged because you are still new. We changed something too. The trainees and Got7 members will mix to collaborate but for the final stage, only three out of the twelve of you will participate. JYP said that having the rookies close the stage is the plan. Okay here are your groups." 

She made us stand in a line. "If I say your name, step forward. Group one. JB, Junior, Daehyun." The three guys stepped forward and moved to the side. "Group two. Yugyeom, Julie, and BamBam." They all high fived each other and moved to the side. "Group three. Youngjae and Sohyun." They smiled at each other and moved to the side. "And that leaves the three of you, Jackson, Mark, and Hyerim to be Group four." Jackson put his arm around Hyerim and she smiled at him. Mark looked at Hyerim smiling and he knew that this showcase is going to be great. 

"For the final stage, Hyerim." Hyerim stepped forward as her name was called. "JB." She said and JB stepped forward. "and... Mark?" Eunji noona said confused. Mark stepped forward. "That's a weird combination. I was thinking maybe Junior or Youngjae." She said to herself but everyone heard her anyway. "No offense Mark. I thought they were planning a ballad for the end but maybe they changed it to an upbeat song. Anyway those are your groups and final stage members and the people you will be working with for next couple weeks. Good luck." She said and left the room. Everyone was satisfied with their group arrangements. Mark looked for Hyerim and found her on the side of the room with the box and letter she was carrying inside earlier. Mark headed over to her and she lifted her head and smiled at him. She handed him the box and letter.

"Some girl earlier asked me to deliver this to you." She said.

"A fan?" Mark asked her.

"She said she knew you or something." Hyerim said. Mark looked all over the box and letter and found no name written anywhere.

"There's no name on here." He said to her.

"That's what I said but she said you would know who it's from anyway." Hyerim said. Then he carefully opened the box and found a slightly worn out snapback. One look and he already knew who this was from. He remembered the hat.

"Irene." He said under his breath.

As soon as I handed him the gift, he rushed out the door with the letter. He dropped the box and I found a slightly worn out snapback inside. I picked it up and examined it.

"Hey is that yours?" Jackson asked.

"No.. Someone gave it to Mark but he dropped it after looking at it and left the room." I reported.

"Can I see the hat?" He asked. I handed it over to him and he examined it too and then suddenly froze.

"What is it Jackson?" I asked him. Before he answered, he ran off like Mark did. Neither of them explained what was going on. Then everything changed.

Mark didn't show up for the next few days to practices. Jackson said he got sick and just needs a few days worth of rest. Eunji unnie said that it was fine that he was absent from practices but he won't be able to do the final stage. So JB and I would just be doing a duet. We were all handed songs during second day of class together. Some of them were covers but some of them were songs the composers created for us. The twins were going to sing Some, a song the composers made. Julie was going to sing one of Nicki Minaj's songs and I was going to do IU's You and I. For our groups, group 1 was doing some b-boy hip pop song, group 2 was doing one of JYP PD-nims songs, group 3 was doing Nagging by IU and finally my group was doing A Part of a Dream from Dream High. JB and my duet will be decided later.

"Hey is Mark okay? I don't even see him around for food anymore." I asked Jackson.

"He's... fine Hyerim-ah, don't worry about it." He gave me a smile. "If you are really concerned, I guess I can ask Mark if he is willing to see you."

"I don't want to be a burden.." I said to him.

"Don't worry," He said, "I'm sure he is willing to meet you." Jackson and I equally split up the rap part of our song. The classes together would be held every other day now so that we can get practice time together and alone practice time. I really hoped Mark will be okay.

Author's Note: The reason why I used the name Irene here is only because I was into Red Velvet's Ice Cream Cake and I was learning Irene's part. But just to avoid confusion, this has absolutely nothing to do with Red Velvet's Irene. This is a completely fictional character! Please don't think of this person as Red Velvet's Irene.
