Laughter filled the cool, early spring air. It was early in the afternoon, and the sun was shining. Almost blinding.

Their fingers were intertwined as they ran up the flowery hill. It was a spot Yushi had been going to with his friends for years.

They first came here as a way to skip P.E. in Middle School. It was right next to their old school.

As they grew older, Yushi found himself in the same school as Jaehee, one of his closest friends. His best friend, Sion, had gone to another school in town, one of the public ones.

Since they were no longer in the same school, they decided to frequently meet up on the exact hill, where their friendship fully bloomed.

Once they reached the top of the grassy hill, Sion fell to the ground, letting go of Yushi's hand. 

❝Oh, our math teacher was annoying me so much today.❞ Jaehee complained, sitting down slowly, crossing his legs. 

Yushi hummed in agreement, eventually going down to the ground, so that he could rest his head on the eldest's chest.

❝My math teacher will talk about his whole life before teaching us anything.❞ Sion laughed, a sigh escaped Yushi's lips.

❝If only it was like that at our school.❞ He wishfully spoke, knowing that it could never be their reality. Their school only accepted the best students — or the rich one — which meant expectations were sky high.

❝Perks of public schools, perhaps.❞ Sion smiled. They fell silent after that, only the wind being heard.

That was until Sion sat up, making Yushi injure his head, and let out a loud gasp.

❝You should meet some of my friends at my school! It's been, what, two years, and I've still not talked about them!❞ He excitedly spoke, not taking much time to breath between words.

Yushi and Jaehee exchanged glances, then showed interest into what he had said.

Sion started going into detail about the boy he had met, and how close they had gotten. He of course had to preface that he wouldn't be replacing his friends, not that they had any doubts.

❝Wait, so he's a year younger than you..? Ew you pedo Sion!❞ Jaehee joked, Sion rolled his eyes pushing away the younger boy.

Yushi watched the pair, amused. 

It was often the way their conversations degenerated. While he wasn't always very active in them, it did make for some great entertainment.

❝Oh c'mon! Anyway, if you're okay with that, could I bring him, like next time?❞ Sion asked, hopeful. Jaehee and Yushi exchanged mischievous glances, clearly wanting to mess around for a bit with the elder.

Clearly, it was Yushi who would start it off. The boy enjoyed pulling pranks on his friends quite a bit.

❝Hm... I dunno, things are going to change, I quite like our trio.❞ Yushi teased, elongating his words. 

He pushed Jaehee carefully closer to him, eventually making the younger boy lean close to Sion's face.

Sion was bright red due to the interaction. It had been very clear to Yushi for about two years, that he had been in love with Jaehee.

Yushi was unsure whether even Sion himself knew of those feelings, but either way, he knew he could torment the poor boy's mind by making him jealous.

❝If you're bringing a friend, then I think it's only fair for Jaehee to bring his girlfriend. She goes to your school as well.❞ He smiled, Yushi's eyes widened, and for a second, so did Jaehee's. 

Obviously, Jaehee wasn't dating anyone. But, decided to play into the bit.

❝Oh yeah! You'd get along great!❞ Jaehee added, nodding with a wide smile.

Sion's frown only got wider. 

❝I'm only kidding, Sion, you really think I could get a girlfriend? Especially before you.❞ Yushi laughed, then pulled Jaehee away carefully.

The pair sat besides their dear friend once again. Yushi resting his head on the elder's shoulder.

❝Of course you can bring him!❞ Yushi finally told him, a sigh of relief escaped Sion's lips, he then nodded.

❝Great, he'll definitely want to come. Andddd you'll love him!❞ Sion clapped his hands out of excitement. 

The trio continued talking for a while — well mostly Sion and Jaehee, Yushi was looking at the sunset. The hill was slightly at a distance from most of the buildings in the city. It gave a good view of downtown.

Yushi always loved that about the hill. It was probably his favourite part.

He started tuning out their chatters. He had brought up his knees to his chest. 

He didn't want to admit it, but Yushi found himself in this spot far more often than he'd like to say. It was calm, and on the outskirts, meaning not as much sound, or commotion. 

It was a great place to destress, plus he was able to get through his homework quicker like that.

❝Yushi?❞ He was brought back down to earth, thanks to Jaehee's voice. He turned around and hummed. The pair was standing up.

❝We're gonna go, it's getting cold. Are you coming along?❞ Sion asked, swinging his and Jaehee's interlocked hands. 

Yushi was so lost in his thoughts, that he hadn't even noticed how chilly it was. He didn't want to leave his friends behind, besides, he was starting to feel the cold wind on his neck, and it was giving him goosebumps.

He stood up in a swift move, and followed his friends down the hill. Their chatter filled with laughter, like when the mounted the place.

This atmosphere always made Yushi feel so warm inside. He loved it so much, and never wanted to let go of it, ever.

He was happy he frequently felt like that. 

By the time they got down, he looked behind him one last time, where he got a short glimpse at the buildings.

❝See you tomorrow, Yushi! And see you soon Sion.❞ Jaehee happily exclaimed as he started walking away.

Yushi and Sion still lived around the same neighbourhood, in the outskirts, so they'd always walk home together.

Yushi one time wanted to bring up Jaehee to Sion, to see if he liked him, or if he had made it all up in his head.

Tonight, however, was not the case.

yay ok my first nct wish fanfic. I love the plot for this one, so i hope you liked it! i'll be uploading every 3 days, so hopefully, i will be able to keep that up! i wasnt sure if id finish before june, and i wanted to get out two fanfics for pride month yay
