"Good morning, sleepy kiddo," New Jakrapat greeted with a smile as William descended the stairs.

His hair was disheveled, eyes half-closed as he rubbed them, trying to shake off sleepiness.

"Good morning, Papa," William said, groggily sitting at the dining chair, leaning back, still half-asleep.

"When did you sleep last night? Another sleepless night?" New asked with a smile, handing William a glass of water. Concern was evident in his voice.

"Yes, Papa. You know I have to upload the new chapters within the deadlines. The story is also trending at the top of the platform, so I need to maintain consistency. And on top of that, I have back-to-back exams. Too much work," William explained, drinking the water and stretching his limbs.

"My little kid has become a celebrity now," New joked with a laugh, watching William sprawl over the dining table.

"Not at all. I'm tired, Papa. I love writing, but the pressure is killing me. Anyway, leave that topic. Has Almond gone to school already? Where's Dad?" William whined at first, then asked in a more straightforward tone.

"Your dad went to drop Almond off at school. They just left. I have to go to the hospital in a few minutes to check on my patients. Now eat your breakfast," New instructed as he headed upstairs to get ready for work.

William nodded at his Papa’s words and stood up to freshen up before eating breakfast.

The soft afternoon light filtered through the windows of the Jakrapat home, casting a warm glow across the living room floor. Almond had just returned from school, tossing his bag onto the couch and dramatically collapsing beside it with a loud sigh.

William sat cross-legged on the floor nearby, his laptop open, headphones loosely hanging around his neck. His usual calm expression held a trace of tiredness; yet another chapter uploaded just in time, another deadline met. His fingers hovered above the keyboard, considering the next line of dialogue for his character when his phone buzzed quietly beside him.

Unknown Number.

He hesitated for a second, then answered.

"Hello?"

The voice on the other end was professional but upbeat. "Hello, is this W. Solace?"

"Yes, speaking."

"This is Khun Pailin from GMMTV’s content acquisition team. We’ve been following your work for a while, and your recent novel ,"Drafted Outline Of Us" is gaining serious traction. The fan engagement, the trending tags; it's impressive. We’d love to talk about the possibility of adapting it into a drama series."

For a few seconds, the house fell completely silent. William’s gaze froze on the floor, his brain scrambling to process the words.

GMMTV?

His novel?

A drama?

He blinked once. Twice.

"I...uh… sorry, could you say that again?" he finally managed, his voice barely above a whisper.

Almond, halfway through unzipping a juice box, paused. "What happened?"

The voice on the phone chuckled kindly. "Of course. We'd like to explore acquiring the rights to adapt one of your stories for a live-action drama. Your current rankings have pushed you onto our top radar. We believe this could be something big, Khun."

"I... see," William said numbly, his voice unusually quiet.

After a few more polite exchanges and the promise of a formal email with more details, the call ended.
