" Commander, we need to get in there before it's too late"!  Explained central officer Bradford his voice urgent, magnified tenfold through the speakers his voice echoing throughout the skyranger. The crew lay back their backs pressed against the seats as if glued. The commander had warned them that this was going to be a tough mission and when the commander said tough the crew knew there was no messing about. There were six of them in total each of them were addressed through their codenames, there was Blizzard the most experienced among them and the first xcom operative to reach the rank of colonel. Blizzard was swift to retaliate to any attack and had the best reflexes among them. Next came Spectre, he was the most adaptive and silent of them all he often perched on the rooftops and fired his sniper rifle which rarely ever missed down on the aliens, his shots clear and precise. Following Spectre comes Shard, once an alien himself, Shard is now a repentive revenge seeking muton, who was genetically modified by alien scientists to be able to think independently a huge mistake made by the aliens. Shard broke free of the alien's rule and joined xcom but not before killing many civilians, a reason why the other xcom operatives don't entirely trust him with the exception of our next operative Swallow. Swallow is an elegant female with the ferocity of a muton, perhaps that being a reason why she takes to Shard. Swallow despite being elegant is a full on bulky yet effective grenadier, wielding  her deadly rupture and stasis grenades. Following Swallow comes Hawkeye yet another sniper but not quite as effective as Spectre. Hawkeye has yet to reach the rank of Colonel and trains vigorously in the hopes of one day achieving this glorious rank. Last but not least comes the mighty Commander himself, who occasionally accompanies the Xcom squad on missions that he senses something off.

" Commander prepare for take off"! Bradford conveyed his voice neutral yet the commander thought he sensed something within Bradford's voice a slither of uneasiness. Perhaps he was imagining it. " You sure you're up to this muton"? Blizzard taunted. " As ready as always" Shard coolly replied. The xcom squad along with the commander jumped off the skyranger without fear and a moment later they were clutching the ropes that lowered them to the ground. The commander jumped  and rolled neatly landing unscathed on the floor. The other operatives followed him yet they preferred to land upright on their feet which sent a jolt of shock rumbling throughout their bones. " You know I still don't get how he does it" Hawkeye whispered to Spectre. " That's because he's the commander" Shard rumbled his voice echoing throughout the abandoned buildings causing Hawkeye and the other operatives to cover their ears, wincing painfully.  " Shush" The commander said raising a finger to his lips. " Unless you want us exposed to the whole city". They continued silently using buildings as cover dashing quickly between rooms. Suddenly the commander, who was at the head of the group raised his hands sharply while looking ahead. This movement immediately caused Hawkeye to crash into shard the noise reverberating throughout the area. The alien pod who the commander had been looking at swiftly turned their heads towards the commander. They had been revealed.
