Lonan and her roommate, Ezra, lounged on the two-seat couch in their shared living room.
Lonan was doom scrolling through her phone, looking through every piece of media for fanfic recommendations of her favorite characters. She didn't even care about what quality it would be at this point; she just needed to consume more of her most beloved Fandom.
Ezra, on the other hand, was actually using the small television in front of them. The local news playing. Something about "The Masked Raven Strikes Again" and then updates on the heroes and other politics. But that had caught Ezra's eye. Lonan only cringed at it.
"That new villain guy is really making a name for himself. Already on the local news in just a few weeks with a name now."
Lonan rolled her eyes, dismissing the topic with boredom. She didn't care about villains and heroes much, even less when it was irrelevant seeming to her. She was already in a bad mood anyway. Hearing about the hero's or villains, especially on such an obviously biased news station, wasn't going to help.
"A name? If you consider that a name, I sure hope you don't name any future animals or kids you have."
Ezra changed the channel and let out a chuckle. Then just ended up turning off the TV and looking at Lonan, who was still browsing her phone.
"Rude. I'd consider myself a great namer! My father even called me that when I was younger. 'Ezra The Great Namer'!"
"Sure he did."
Despite her sour mood, Lonan couldn't help but crack a slight smile. Ezra took it as a small victory and then got up, stretching a bit before putting her hands on her hips.
"I'm heading over to the gym, lazing around is kinda boring."
Then she ran a hand through her pixie cut hair and "casually" flexed her muscles. Lonan glanced over before laying across the couch even more lazily and shooing her off.
"Yeah, yeah. Go run off, you already did your chores."
Ezra smiled big and grabbed her already filled water bottle, phone, and whatever else she needed before leaving with an animated wave. And now that the apartment was all to Lonan, she could finally have time for her hobby.

After my roommate left, I got up from the couch quickly. My laptop was located in my room just in the right spot to sit on the floor and turn it on.
I put in my password, let it take a moment to load all the tabs I left open. And there it was! My vault of stories waiting to be, or already published on smaller fanfiction sites.
The best part about this specific site was the profile customization. Sure, my profile screamed 2000's emo 'I had a major twilight phase' and the sort. But it was my 2000's emo and twilight phase combo!
The username, a regret but something she would never change, XxCrowLuvRxX. Sure, I cringed a little and died inside reading it, but it's been a part of me too long to get rid of now!
But the real reason I got onto my laptop: My most recent story had a chapter still in drafting- unfinished and unpolished. So, the best time to work on it is while Ezra is out!
My brain was already recalling all my notes and plans for the story. Little details to be subtly put in for foreshadowing, the little bits of research I had done for accuracy, even new ideas springing up for my plot holes.
My fingers glided across the keyboard as I had the laptop on my, well, lap. My posture could still use some work, but that's a problem for another time. I have to write everything down before I hit a writers block, or worse, lose motivation for the story itself!
