INVICTUS: The Rule Breaker

PROLOGUE

Every day is a new start. A new life, where the unexpected happens, the battle starts, and the rivalry for power rises. The scents of such are thick in the atmosphere.

The rays of the morning sun pierced through the clouds, hitting our skin, sending warmth to our chilled pores. The fresh and dewy air entered our flaring nostrils, feeling ourselves fulfilled and refreshed.

Nakatayo kami sa labas ng Montello High habang ninanamnam ang kaba, takot, kasiyahan at galak na bumabalot sa amin. Halo-halong emosyon na halos hindi namin maintindihan kung kaya't nanatili kaming tahimik. Tiningnan ko ang aking mga kasama at iba't-ibang ekspresyon ang nakaguhit sa kanilang mga mukha. Bigla akong na-self-conscious. Walang natatanging paraan para tingan ang mukha ko pero sinusubukan kong maging blangko ito subalit ito'y sadyang mahirap lalo na sa ganitong sitwasyon.

Nilingon kami ng aming representative at ngumiti ito sa amin. Hindi mababakas sa mukha niya ang takot o kahit konting kaba man lang. Tumingin siya sa paligid.

"Look at them." Wika niya.

Nilibot namin ang aming paningin at ngayon ko lang napansin ang makapal na dami ng mga estudyanteng papasok sa Montello High.

"Wala silang pinagkaiba sa atin at ganun din sila. Fear has no place here in Montello High." Nag-iwa siya ng isa pang ngiti at saka tumalikod.

The gates started to creak open, giving us a perfect view of the massive building in a Victorian style. Sadyang napakalawak nito and the area seemed isolated, as if it is being kept away from the world. Tahimik naming pinagmasdan ang paaralan.

One can actually feel the mystery that lurks inside those tall, unbreachable walls, thereby releasing an overwhelming aura.

An unseen force embraces us, and feeling it's hands pull us towards Montello High and we don't have even the slightest desire to resist it though we perfectly know deep in our hearts and minds that once we entered, turning back will never be an option.

"Welcome to Montello High, my beloved students."

Sebastian Freniere came into view, an evil grin spreading across his devilishly handsome face, enough for us to shiver. The hell with this guy. We only had a few seconds to look and memorize his perfect features for he turned away and started to walk, urging us to do the same.

Montello High welcomed us as we entered the gates.

Our school awaits us and a new chapter of our lives starts....
