JACE

It's funny how I had to force Liv to come to this party, but here she was enjoying it to her full potential. She had dressed up for Halloween, actually putting in effort. She was so pretty tonight, a little more out of her comfort zone. But I like that about her. I liked that today was bringing her confidence as well.

Which is why she is dancing with me when most everyone else was just standing on the dance floor. She laughs, grabbing for my hand as she sways her hip to the rhythm. "I can't believe we are the only ones dancing!"

"Oh, we aren't!" I immediately say to make her feel better, but she laughs. I step a little closer to her, placing a hand on her waist as I guide her to follow my eyeline. "See over there?" I ask in her ear, not trying to get distracted by how she was holding onto my shoulder. "That couple is dancing as well."

Liv looks unconvinced as she squints at the pair way past us. She has a smile on her face as she says, "It looks like the girl is trying to find the rhythm to the song while her boyfriend scowls next to her."

I laugh, shaking my head as I look at her now. "I'm sorry," I wince, knowing that I was at a loss.

"No, it's okay," she says quickly, stepping back just enough to look at my face. "I like that we are dancing, especially together."

I nod, giving her a smirk as I say, "And have you found your rhythm yet?"

In return, she starts to move her hips back and forth, grinning as she guides my other hand to her hip. Placing her hands behind my neck, I tighten the hold on her hips, pushing us slightly closer. She peers into my eyes as she says, "Don't you feel that I've found the rhythm, Jace?"

I felt it. For the last half an hour, all I have been doing is feeling her body in my hands. We were standing together, talking to other people, and

My hands have never left her hips. I was obsessed with keeping us closer, and she didn't mind it either, her hand always around my arm. I liked that she was keeping me close as well, and mostly, I was following her lead.

She is watching me as she starts to aggressively shake her hips, causing for me to widen my eyes. She laughs, stepping close to me as she places her hands on my chest. "I'm just playing around," she says, laughing, but I only bring her hips closer to my body.

"I like when you are playing around," I tell her, running my hand up and down her side. She smiles, placing her hip on my chest as she looks up at me. Giving me a suspicious look, her lip pulled up in a smirk, she says, "You're very handy today."

That takes me by surprise. But I find that I laugh instead of getting quiet, despite my cheeks flushing. I squeeze her hip, smirking as I say, "You're saying. You're all over me tonight, girl."

She laughs, hitting my chest as her lips widen in a gasp. "Oh, is that right?" she asks me, amusement in her eyes. "Are you sure it's not just all you?"

I bring our bodies flush together, nudging her hip with mine just slightly as I say, "No, you are very much an accomplice in this as well as me."

"Huh," she says, poking her tongue inside of her cheek and looking at me. It takes me a second to realize I'm staring at her a little too hard because I find the movement attractive. Well, I find all of her attractive, and getting lost in them is becoming harder to avoid these days. I swallow, realizing we are way too close for me to not make it awkward in less than five seconds that I pull away.

I make sure that my body isn't pressed to hers, and I slide my hands up to her arm. Giving her a smile, I say, "Want to get off the dance floor and try out a game?"
