The air in the tranquil land of Waterfall shimmered with an ethereal glow. Gentle breezes rustled the bushes, and the water's surface rippled in delicate, mesmerizing patterns. Among the many breathtaking sights of the Underground, Waterfall was the most serene, a place of quiet beauty, soothing melodies, and mystical creatures.

The Underground was home to monsters—an ancient race banished beneath the earth by a powerful magical spell cast by humans long ago. For generations, they remained imprisoned, their only hope for freedom lying in the collection of seven human souls. King Asgore, ruler of the monsters, sought to break the barrier that confined his people. To do so, he needed just three more souls—one of which would soon belong to Melody Turner.

Melody was a ballerina, known for her unwavering honesty and loyalty. Adored by her parents and cherished by her friends, she was a young woman of rare integrity, embodying the virtue in its purest form. Yet even integrity could not shield one from moments of recklessness.

Her journey to the Underground began with curiosity. While researching the legendary Mt. Ebott for a school project, she learned of its mysterious entrance. Later, during a family camping trip near the mountain, her intrigue got the better of her. She ventured too far, crossing the threshold into the unknown.

From there, her odyssey unfolded. She navigated the ancient Ruins, where she encountered Toriel, a kind and nurturing goat-like woman. She wandered through the snowy expanse of Snowdin, where she met two enigmatic skeleton brothers. Now, she found herself in the heart of Waterfall, the most peaceful and hauntingly beautiful place the Underground had to offer.

Unbeknownst to her, her fate was already entwined with the destiny of the monsters. And the path ahead would test not only her integrity—but her very survival.

Her slippers clapped softly against the damp wooden planks as she found herself on a long stretch of boardwalk. The air grew thick, the light fading abruptly into an unnatural darkness. A creeping unease settled over her as fear coiled in her chest—she had no idea what might be lurking ahead.

Turning a corner, she froze. A towering, hooded figure loomed before her, its presence suffocating. Unlike the other creatures she had encountered—those had been strange yet benign—this one radiated pure menace. She instinctively stepped back, bracing herself.

The figure turned slowly, revealing only darkness beneath its hood. A heavy shadow obscured its face, but two sharp horns jutted outward, stark against the void. It was as if death itself had materialized before her. Then, with a deliberate, measured pace, it began to approach.

Melody stumbled backward, her breath coming in quick, shallow gasps. Panic clawed at her chest as more footsteps echoed through the room. Whipping around, she spotted two fox-like creatures and a peculiar-looking robot. One of the fox creatures was older, wearing glasses, while the other was unmistakably young, dressed in a small, delicate gown. They froze the moment they saw her.

"A human," the older fox murmured, eyes widening. "It's a human. Axis, standby for apprehension." The robot let out a sharp, mechanical buzz in response.

Melody barely had time to process the command before the hooded figure turned back toward her. With an eerie slowness, it reached up and pulled down its hood. What lay beneath was far more terrifying than she could have imagined—its pale, gaunt face, sunken yet piercing eyes, and glistening fangs left no doubt. It was a vampire.

"Don't be afraid, little one," the vampire spoke gently, its voice smooth and disarming. "I am not here to hurt you." Melody wasn't about to take any chances. Without hesitation, she yanked off her slippers and smacked the vampire across the face before spinning on her heel and bolting for the exit.
