A week had passed. Amie was walking home after a long day at work, but her day wasn't over just yet. It was Tuesday again, Zoro would soon come pick her up. At the alley she had first met him, she stopped. She thought he'd come pick her up here again, so why not sit down for a while and wait for him to come. She did hope he wouldn't ninja-grab her like last time and just blindfold her or something. It wasn't exactly a nice feeling to be grabbed like that...
A good 30 minutes of throwing rocks at things, Zoro finally showed up. "What took you so long?!" Amie shouted, but at the same time Zoro shouted, "Where the fuck where you?". Amie looked at him confused. "What do you mean? This is the same alley as last week!" She answered him. "Really? I thought it was back there." He said and pointed behind him. "No, I walk here almost 10 times a week, I'm very, very positive this is the alley." "..." "You'd think an assassin would know where he has to be." "Gimme a break! All these alleys look pretty much the same!" "Right..." Amie said and imagined a giant billboard above Zoro saying:
IDIOT

But hey, nobody's perfect right? "Anyways, let's go." Zoro said and wanted to grab Amie again, but she dodged. "OH HELL NO! YOU'RE NOT NINJA-GRABBING ME AGAIN!!!" She shouted at him and dodged him a good couple of times before he finally grabbed her. "Got you!" He said and soon Amie was limp in his arms again.
Later, Amie opened her eyes to find herself laying on a bed. She felt weak and slightly nauseous, the same feeling she had once the adrenaline of getting kidnapped and her 'assignment' had worn off last week. She tried getting up, but her head was slightly aching as well. She really, really hated that ninja-grab-thing...
"Good morning, sunshine~" He chanted mockingly, at which Amie sighed and let herself flop back onto the bed. "Can you please stop using that ninja-grab-whatever-it-is-thing? I feel like I got stepped on by an elephant..." She asked him. "This is the best way to keep my location secret from you though." He said. "So? Can't you just blindfold me or something next time? Saves you the struggle of carrying a limp body around." She suggested. "We'll see." He said.
"So, any progress?" He asked her. "I started getting awkward around him n stuff. You know, that cliché clumsy girl shit from bad rom-com's. He is acting really nice around me now." She said, sitting up now, and gave Zoro a thumbs up, which he returned. "Great. You think you can ask him on a date soon?" He asked her. "How should I know?! This is the first time I'm trying to get a guy's attention in that way!" She bluntly said. "Which is so very important for me to know of course..." Zoro said mockingly. "Well now you know I'm terrible at this shit." Amie explained. "I already knew." "How?" "Because last time you told me you're both a virgin and never had a boyfriend. Sounds pretty inexperienced to me." Zoro explained. "Right..."
"Can I please have some aspirin or something? This sucks..." Amie whined. "FINE! Jesus... If you stop whining, for god's sake!" Zoro finally agreed. Amie had been asking and whining for a while now and Zoro just couldn't take anymore puppy eyes or pouting. "Thank you~" She happily chanted. Amie wasn't all that surprised at the fact that she acted so casual around him. Of course, the first time was scary, but as usual, she accepted the things that happened and moved on. There was no point in nagging about things you can't change. Might as well make him not hate her and it seemed he thought the same. "Here you go." And then she nearly got hit in the face with a pack of Aspirin.
A day or two later, Amie was doing some administration work at the desk of the hotel. The days were usually quite quiet. Every so often someone would call about room service or there was something wrong and then she'd have to contact the cooks or the maids or whomever and she just went back to her screen to fill in the monthly things for example. She really did wish she was allowed to listen to music while doing these kind of things...
"Monthly expenses done..." She muttered as she saved the long excel file and closed it. It was almost noon now. Soon she'd be released from this boring computer and she'd be able to eat her lunch at the park. "Good work!" She heard a voice say from behind. Amie squeaked in surprise and turned around. Sanji was leaning against the wall, obviously amused... "Oh, hey! Yeah, I was kinda bored, you know." She said nervously and laughed a bit, at which he chuckled. "Right, anyways, would you like to join me for lunch?" He suddenly asked. "Wha...?" Join him... For lunch... Wait... She'd only been acting weird around him for a week or so! Is it that effective? If he took his employees with him for lunch more often then fine, but he never did! Otherwise she would've heard all about it from her 'rather talkative' colleagues. "Yeah, there's a new a few blocks away with pretty good sandwiches and things, I heard. You wanna join me? My treat!" He told her. "Y-yes, of course! I'd love too! But I have to wait for-" "Not now, silly!" He cut her off and laughed. Right...
Honestly, Amie had never been this nervous and stressed out by someone! She was trying to decide what to eat off of the menu, but she just couldn't concentrate with Sanji looking directly at her! "I'll just take some eggs on toast." She decided. "Really? It's okay to choose something more expensive you know." Sanji told her. "No, it's fine. I just really like eggs." She explained herself. Not a lie though, she really did love eggs! "Alright then." He said and she laughed nervously, again... She wasn't even acting at this point anymore! He just made her feel really really really nervous and uncomfortable. The way he looked at her was like a predator, toying around with it's prey before killing it!
Never had she ever been so happy to sit behind her desk again... Due to uncomfortableness and awkwardness and other-bad-feelingsness she ended up spilling her glass of water over herself and now she had to sit here with a sticky, damp shirt and pants. Too bad this hotel didn't require a uniform as a receptionist, only a proper white blouse, otherwise she could've changed into a spare uniform, but no, she had the freedom to dress in whatever she wanted pretty much.
After that day, Sanji would take her out for more lunches. Amie was actually kind of surprised and slightly annoyed that she'd have to go through it all again, but date after date, she'd feel more comfortable around Sanji. Her colleagues were kind of jealous, considering Sanji was seen as good looking AND rather rich AND a gentleman, but they were still happy for her. After all, even if Amie didn't like them that much, they were still friends and Amie was often invited to tag along to go out, even if Amie often had to decline because she couldn't leave Nami alone that late (and she didn't like going out).
Her mother was very happy to hear the news of her daughter going out with a nice man, even if they weren't officially a thing yet and it wasn't even real. However, it did seem that the fact that she might be get grandchildren was actually helping her fight the cancer! That fact scared Amie slightly. The relationship wasn't real and it probably never would be. What if this actually was helping her mother and breaking up with him would do the opposite! Of course, that was kind of ridiculous, but she had been feeling bad a lot. Lying against her mother, using her boss like that... These days the guilt often kept her up at night and if not, the fear of people finding out would. In extreme cases, she wished Zoro would've just killed her and be done with it, but that was selfish. Who else would take care of Nami and her mother?
She just really needed someone to talk to, but who could she talk to? No one could know about this and she highly doubted Zoro would listen to her, since he was the one who got her into this mess in the first place.
Selfish asshole...
