Juan stood before her mother's grave, the wind whispering secrets in her ear. Her mother had passed away during childbirth, so she never actually felt the pain, but she felt a deep sadness that she never got to experience the love a mother would give. Her father, James, has been trying his best to fill the gap of her mother, but his best was definitely not enough.
As she gazed at the headstone, Juan felt a pang of sadness. Why did her mother have to leave her so soon? Why did she have to die giving birth to her? She only knew her mum through the stories she heard from her grandmother, and that made her miss her mom, she wants to know her more, she wondered what it would be like to have a mother.
The sound of footsteps behind her broke the spell. Juan turned to see her father, James, approaching her. He looked tired, his eyes sunken, but he forced a smile onto his face.
"Juan, I'm glad I found you here," he said, his voice gentle. "I was looking for you everywhere."
Juan felt a surge of affection for her father. She wondered how her father who knew her mom felt knowing he won't see her again.
But as they walked back to the manor, juan couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. Her father seemed...different. And the way he looked at her, with a mixture of sadness and guilt, made her wonder what secrets he was hiding.
