'Ha! Nice try, Keefe', Sophie smirked, spotting him trying to sneak up on her. She was sitting under Calla's tree, enjoying the fresh air.
'Aww cmon Foster, you always ruin it!', Keefe said as he plopped down beside her.
Sophie just smiled and shook her head, lost in thought.
'What's wrong, Foster?', Keefe asked. Right, Sophie thought, he's an empath.
'Nothing, Keefe', she sighed.
Keefe smiled. 'Foster, you still haven't learnt that you can't lie to an empath'.
She sighed, rubbing her temples. 'I've just been thinking abo-
They suddenly heard a sound, both of them instantly on their feet. Oh come on, Sophie thought, couldn't she just get a little bit of peace?
Several cloaked figures stepped out of the shadows. Sophie inhaled sharply as she saw the white symbol on their sleeves. The neverseen.
