“Well listen Riley, you can’t walk around here like that,” he gestured to Riley’s trembling hands before turning to his wardrobe. If he was going before Lucifer then he needed to dress. And again, after spending so many years on earth he was growing accustomed to the tradition, “not unless you want your ass nailed every fifty paces or so.”
The soul’s eyes went quickly to the floor, its head turning to the side.
Guess that would mean he’d already learned that lesson. And was probably why he didn’t start shaking like that until he saw Gage. He wasn’t quite so arrogant to boast the fact, but he was hung well. And just such a sight with the obvious scents of sex coming from Gage’s chambers on top of him inviting the soul in, yeah, the soul must have thought it was in for another round.
Not. Going. To. Happen.
“Let me guess,” Gage said into his wardrobe as he pulled the only body coverings he had in hell, his uniform from his days in the Roman army. The chest plate and tunic along with the metal braces and sheathed sword stayed where they were, that and his helmet he reserved for more formal occasions. Instead he just pulled out the basics, his apron skirt of leather strips- his lappet- and sandals. “Big brown guy, kind of scaly on his shoulders, forked tongue?”
The soul just nodded.
“Bane,” Gage spat, slamming the door shut, “don’t worry, I’ll have a word with Lucifer and that shit will stop real quick.”
Be it would be because Lucifer didn’t like to share his toys and upon hearing that Bane took advantage of the soul Lucifer would do the same to him, but at least the soul didn’t have to worry about getting jumped by that rapist every time it turned a corner.
Again the soul only nodded, its chin dipping impossibly closer to its chest. Gage just shook his head and dropped to the end of his bed after pulling on his lappet to pull on his sandals, his back still to the soul. There wasn’t anything more Gage could do for it. Not without showing his hand, without giving the soul the impression that he cared-
“My Lord?”
Too late.
Gage shut his eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath through his nose, “yes Riley?”
Not that he didn’t already know what was coming next.
“I…ah…thank you.”
“No you don’t,” Gage jumped off the bed and whipped around, only to whack his still tingling wing against the post on the bed with a curse, “god dammit, now see what you made me do?” he snapped as he folded his wing over so he could rub the last of the pins and needs out.
“I’m sorry,” Riley blurted quickly, the tremors beginning in the soul’s hands again.
“Now that’s better,” Gage grumbled as he ran his hand over his feathers. It was always worse in his wings for some reason, or his toes, his toes took a while to wake up too, “don’t thank, don’t ever show someone gratitude here for anything do you understand me? Not unless you enjoyed what happened in the hall.”
“No,” Riley’s eyes fell to the floor again.
And when it came to Bane, no one enjoyed it, not even the willing. He didn’t get off on other’s pleasure that was for sure.
“Who’s your friend my Lord?” Laura asked as she stepped out of the steam, Ann following just behind her, both their eyes lighting up thinking that they weren’t being dismissed as they had assumed.
