Harley folded his arms over his chest and leaned back in his chair again. What did he expect to happen? "No, but you're only pissing him off more." He said. Peter tilted his head slightly at Harley, feeling his anger boiling. "He needs to be locked away." Peter stated, "I'll do anything to make that happen." "Will you?" Harley questioned, "Or do you just want to hurt him?" Peter stood up and kicked his chair away in the process. "I am not doing this. Not with you, Keener. Why don't you look in the mirror, huh?" And he stormed away, leaving Harley behind with a playful and smug smirk on his lips. "Whatever." He mumbled.
Bucky put his hands in his pockets as he walked toward Tony, standing near the entrance in deep thought. "Tony?" The man looked up. It seemed like he was still getting used to the fact that Bucky Barnes was here, and he was talking to him; to think he hadn't blasted his face off yet. "What is it?" Tony questioned. Bucky briefly glanced over his shoulder at Y/n, who was dead asleep. She looked very cozy with the warm duvet over her body. "I talked to Y/n." He started. "That's good. How is she doing?" "I'm not sure. I don't think she's okay. She's asleep right now, which is fine, but she said she is scared. Scared for something bigger. She said something might be wrong." Bucky felt his stomach twist as he thought about it again. Y/n shouldn't be worried about anything. "Y/n's just scared because of what happened with the birdman," Tony said. That's the most logical explanation, was it not? "Probably. But it's how she said it. She seemed really terrified." Bucky told him. He didn't know Y/n as well as Natasha did, and definitely not as well as Tony did, but there was something off about her. Not to mention that whole Loki thing she told him about. He wasn't going to tell Tony he knew about that. Y/n is not crazy. "I thought you should know. It's your kid. Maybe she'll talk to you some more." Bucky added. Tony replied with a slight nod. "Thank you, Barnes." Tony watched his daughter sleep peacefully behind the former assassin. Y/n was just being paranoid. Of course, she is scared and frightened. They need to find that Vulture guy and get him out of their lives. This gut feeling could be an actual warning, and if it's not, then at least they didn't wave it away like it was nothing.
How could Harley say something like that? Was this his fault? No! The Vulture came after him. When he was fifteen, he went after the guys who stole that money, sold those dangerous weapons, and almost killed another guy. He was there at the scene when it happened. He didn't know what he was getting himself into. Peter had no idea who was behind all of that. It was Toomes who became so obsessed with the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Toomes tried to kill him. Toomes came straight back to Queens with his family, very aware of the fact that he could run into Peter again. He wanted to pick up where he left off a few years ago.
Harley wasn't there. And who was he to talk about obsession? Wasn't Harley the person who has been obsessed with Peter's girlfriend all this time? Harley, to this day, is obsessed with Y/n; eager to do anything to please her and get on her good side. But that was nothing like Peter and Toomes. The Vulture is a villain. A man who does terrible things. Peter chose to be the type of guy who stops those people. Peter just never expected him to come back. That chapter of his life was closed, the book shut tightly, never to be opened again.
Peter picked up a rock that was lying on top of the roof on which he was sitting and tossed it far, far, away with his super strength. The rain had stopped. He didn't care about his pants getting wet. He pulled on his mask again and felt more comfortable behind it. In case someone saw him. He kept shooting some webs ahead of him in the air, only for them to land on the ground below him. He groaned loudly. Things would have been a lot easier if he had never gotten bitten by that spider.
Peter wished he could talk to Y/n. Tony was furious at him for bringing Bucky into the mix, so angry that he wouldn't even allow him near his own girlfriend. He should start thinking of ways to make it up to both of them. Peter misses Y/n. He just wants to have her in his arms. Imagine if he were able to check up on her whenever he wanted to. But Tony is still her father, he has to respect his wishes. He wants Y/n. What would she say about all of this? She probably doesn't even know about what happened. He doesn't want to worry her, but is talking to her too much to ask?
"Got much to think about, do you, bug boy?" Peter jumped at the sudden voice appearing behind him. He got up on his feet and turned around. The woman was back. With her silver blonde hair, her black mask, and her playful grin. "You're back," Peter mumbled. Did he say that out loud? He quickly cleared his throat and tried to play it off cool. "Uh... uh... who are you? You disappeared last time. Didn't answer any of my questions." Peter told her. She fake-pouted at the boy. "Awh, aren't you a treat?" She took two steps closer to the boy. "Think it's gonna be that easy? Just ask me a question and I'll answer it." Peter's mouth opened, but he hesitated to speak. "Uh... kind of, yes..." She laughed softly and took another step toward him. She placed her gloved hand on his shoulder. "I might tell you a thing or two. If you ask me real nicely." She teased, "Think you can do that, bug boy?" Peter gulped. He couldn't help it.
Toomes' phone started to ring for a fourth time. He tried to ignore the vibrations in his pocket, but couldn't. His wife and daughter hadn't picked up on anything. He excused himself when his phone rang again. His phone pressed against his ear. "What do you want?" He barked, "I am with my family. No work. How do -" Toomes said. "I'm in." Toomes barely picked up on those two words. "You think I... did you say that you're in?" Toomes asked. Theo hummed on the other side. Happily and proudly. "I'm in. It's all here, boss. The girl's a genius. I've never seen anything like this before. This is insane." Toomes felt that his pupils were growing wide with joy. "I am so proud of you right now... I'll call him, you did good." And ended the phone call.
