Ayanokouji Kiyotaka pov

Currently, I am sitting in my seat despite being given 15 minutes to prepare.

I looked at the exam name again.

Thrown Dice.

A fitting name.

In Rp loloman mythology, there is a famous phrase, "Alea iacta est," which means "The die is cast." It is attributed to Julius Caesar when he crossed the Rubicon River in 49 BCE, an act that led to the Roman Civil War. The phrase signifies a point of no return—once the dice have been rolled, the outcome is left to fate.

In Christian traditions, dice have been linked to the devil and sin, especially in the context of gambling. Many old European folktales describe the devil playing dice games to trick humans into losing their souls.

In the Mahabharata, the villainous Shakuni possesses enchanted dice made from the bones of his father, which always roll in his favor. He uses them to deceive the Pandavas in a rigged gambling match, leading to their downfall.

Dice are often associated with misfortune. I wonder if I will share the same fate as those who have fallen before me, or if I will be able to break free… No, I can't break free. The moment my memories are revealed, even if they are from just a few months ago, I will undoubtedly become a social outcast—the one everyone feels uneasy around.

I might not care about that, if I am being bluntly honest. But there is something far worse than being alone in an empty room. It is being alone in a group of people.

Not like I haven't been on that side as well.

The reason I joined this school was to do things I never could before, but I think fate has other plans.

"Ayanokouji-kun, let's go and prepare."

"Yeah, let's go."

After all, I am No. 5 on the list.

Sakayanagi Arisu pov

It is quite an interesting examination. A die—often associated with demons—its black dots scattered across a white surface.

Unless, of course, you modify it to suit your own preferences.

But I wonder… why would they put me in this examination? I haven’t even done anything noteworthy enough to attract attention.

[She looked at number 4.]

How odd.

I can already tell which number belongs to whom… except for numbers 1 & 5 as I am not aware of the situation of class D.

Why do I think that class D has 2, representatives? Because they are the only one left for me to figure out in this list.

There are really good chances of katsuragi being at 6 but I doubt that's the case.

He is a good student? Yes. But is he some note worthy who the entire first year revolves around? No.

"Hime, are you not coming for preparation?"
