"no one, not a single person dared to move a muscle as the dark lord started advancing towards the students, no one except for him, Harry Potter.
My eyes were wide open as I stared at my father in horror, waiting to see what his next move was.
His arm was shaking, his hand was gripping his wand tighter than ever, exhaustion was printed on his face but he continued to fight, for his sake and for ours.
and then, a few moments later, it happened, my biggest fear became reality.
I watched in shock as his body, the body of the person I loved the most collapsed onto the ground lifeless while the death eaters laughed and cheered.
In that same instant time seemed to slow down, everything around me sounded so quiet while I tried to suppress the need to scream at the top of my lungs to express my pain, but I didn't, and I wish I had."
Present day
I woke up in panic, abruptly snapping back to reality. My head was hurting badly and my heart was pounding so much that I could feel it bursting away in any second. I slowly got out of bed, finding my way towards the bathroom. I started washing my face, trying to come to my senses, it was a sunny day after all, the last day of summer to be clear and I wasn't going to let some blurry flashbacks ruin it.
I started walking downstairs, the smell of bacon filling my nostrils, not to mention the soft voice of Margaery, my stepmother, who was trying to videocall her brother.
"Good morning Eve" she said with a delightful smile on her face. Even though she wasn't my real mother I loved her with all my being. She adopted me as soon as she heard the tragic news about my parents in fact she was a very close friend of my biological mother, Ginny Weasley, to whom she swore to protect me from any harm at the cost of her own life.
"Goodmorning mom" I said, hoping that she wouldn't notice the big dark circles under my eyes caused by the lack of sleep. "I was just about to check the list of your school materials. I want everything to be perfect for your last year" she says calmly "I can't wait to see you out of that cursed place"
"I think we bought everything so don't worry too much about it" I say meanwhile taking a bite of a green apple "Would you like me to bring you to the station tomorrow? I heard it'll be pouring by the time you will arrive at the platform 9 3/4" my mother continues. "I would love to, perhaps I will be there on time and I won't be forced to hear Isabel shouting at me for being late" I say while laughing. Isabel was my best friend since childhood. We have always been really close since I first set foot at Hogwarts. Even though we were in two different houses we still managed to spend some time together during lunch and dinner breaks, still, it hurt my heart not to have any friends in Slytherin. From the very beginning of my school career I have always been wondering what made the hat pick this house for me, it honestly did not match my personality at all and due to all the gossip people liked to talk about I wasn't the only one questioning it.
