The Call

Chapter 1 The Call

"The stars look extra beautiful tonight", Elias said while looking at his friend Liam's Ocean blue eyes. Liam was staring at the stars and then said, "I know you've been watching me for quite some time". Elias looked away and stared at the grass. He then said to him, "I can't stop staring at your eyes.. their quite beautiful". Liam replied "Blue eyes are pretty common, your emerald green eyes are much more pretty and rare". Elias chuckled and said "but your eyes have a different tint, a different hue of blue.. almost like the ocean"

Both were quiet now leading to an awkward silence, until Liam said, "Yours are still much prettier. At least I think so"

Elias then broke the silence with a question,"why didn't you come to school today?". Liam didn't reply for a while untilwhen he said, "Something happened at home..mom got hospitalized". Eliasimmediately spoke up, "what happened to Mrs Scott?". Liam replied, "slippedfrom the stairs and broke a leg, She's good though so you really don't have toworry". Elias then said, "You will come tomorrow though, right?"Liam nodded,"yes, I will". Before Elias could say anything, his phone rang. Elias looked atthe time and realized how late it was. He got up and said, "It's getting late, Let's head back".Liam nodded and Elias helped Liam up. Both of them started going down the hillwhile talking.

When they reached to the foot of the hill, Elias said his goodbyes, "Well, see you tomorrow". Liam nodded and both parted their ways. Each going their way back home.

When Elias reached home. He saw a note on the fridge. He walked towards the fridge and read the note. It was from his mom. It read-

-Dear Elias,

I'll be back home a bit late. The dinner is already made and kept in the fridge. Don't forget to eat it. Lock the doors and go to bed early.

Mom-

Elias read the note and crumbled it, throwing it in the trash can. He opened the fridge and looked at a plate which had spaghetti on it. He closed the fridge without sparing a single glance at the dinner. He walked to his room and closed the door with a loud thud. He sat on the bed and turned on his phone.

Hescrolled until he got a random, weird idea. He dialed his own number and putthe phone near his ear. He could hear the line ring, however no one picked up. He sighed and put on an alarm, laying down on the bed. He closed his eyes. Suddenly he heard his phone ring. He picked up his phone and gasped in disbelief. The number was his own.

He picked up the call.

"Hello, is this Elias?", The voice sounded oddly familiar to his own. Elias's heart raced quite faster, He slowly answered. "Yes, this is Elias...Who are you? why do you have the same number as me?". The voice said, "My name is Elias too. In fact, I am you. that's why we both have the same number". Elias became confused and didn't believe this so called 'Elias'. He immediately said, "If so, why did you call m-". Before Elias could finish the voice immediately said, "Listen, I don't have enough time. Tomorrow lock your bedroom door and then sleep!". With that the other Elias hanged the phone.

Elias was confused but then paid it no mind. He closed his eyes and drifted off to his slumber.
