Danger Approaches

Ha Ye Sol slept soundly in her room, unaware of the tension filling the rest of the hotel. Laura sat on the bed, still trembling, while Byung-hun stood by the balcony doors, watching the darkness outside.

"We need to leave," he finally said, turning to Laura.

"Leave? Where?" she asked, her voice shaky.

Byung-hun sighed. "I have a safe house on the outskirts of the city. We'll be safe there—at least until we figure out who's behind this."

Laura nodded. She didn't have the strength to argue. After what had just happened, she knew they were no longer safe here.

An Hour Later

The car moved along the dark road. Ha Ye Sol slept in the back seat, wrapped in a blanket, unaware that their entire world was changing. Laura sat beside her, still struggling to process everything.

Byung-hun drove with a focused expression, his hands gripping the steering wheel tightly, eyes constantly checking the rearview mirror.

"Do you think we were followed?" Laura asked quietly.

Byung-hun gave a slight nod. "We have to be careful. This attack wasn't random."

Laura bit her lip. The image of the man who had broken into her room flashed through her mind. What if... what if he was one of Jake's men?

She was about to say something when Byung-hun suddenly noticed headlights in the rearview mirror.

Two black SUVs were following them.

"Hold on!" he growled and slammed his foot on the gas.

Laura clutched Ha Ye Sol tighter, her heart pounding wildly.

The chase had just begun.

Escape

The engine roared as Byung-hun slammed his foot on the gas, and the car shot forward. The lights of the two black SUVs behind them were getting closer, neither shortening the distance nor falling behind.

Laura pulled Ha Ye Sol closer to her, her heart pounding wildly. "Is it them?" she whispered.

Byung-hun gritted his teeth, eyes focused on the road. "Definitely."

Laura glanced through the rear window. She couldn't see inside the SUVs through the tinted windows, but she knew whoever was in there had bad intentions.

"What are we going to do?"

"I'll get us out of here," Byung-hun said firmly.

At that moment, the SUVs accelerated. One pulled up next to them, while the other stayed right behind.

"Hold on!" Byung-hun growled, jerking the steering wheel. The car veered sharply onto a side road leading into the forest. The tires screeched, small stones flying into the air.

The SUVs reacted immediately, chasing after them.

"They're not stopping!" Laura screamed.

"They don't want us to get away," Byung-hun replied, desperately looking for a way to shake them off.

The road was narrow, lined with thick trees, which could give them an advantage. If they could use the terrain to their benefit...

Suddenly, one of the SUVs rammed them from behind. The car jolted forward, and Ha Ye Sol stirred in her sleep, mumbling softly.

"We have to shake them off," Byung-hun muttered, gripping the wheel tighter.

Laura watched him. Even in this dangerous situation, he was focused, determined.

But the SUVs weren't giving up.

And then, on the horizon, Laura saw something that made her heart drop.

The end of the road.

There was nowhere to run.
