Benched: The BB Boys and Me

Of course the one time I wore a school shirt it happened to be when the theme was white-out. My best friends, Anna, Charlie, Madison, and Lizzy already made fun of me enough, but it was even worse when I walked into the full basketball arena and I was the only one wearing red. We sat where we always sit, directly behind the bench. The game was so close the whole time and I screamed every time we made a shot no matter if it was a free throw, layup, jump shot, or three-pointer. Every time I screamed and during every time out, Headband and Moobs always stared at me. I think it was because I was wearing red, it made me stand out, but they arent the man I want. I want Firetruck. He's a whole head taller than me and has perfect muscles. Prominent, but not too buff. He has the most beautiful red hair. However, he never looks at me.

"Guys," Ruby says, "I need him so bad. I have never liked a man as much as I like him. I think Moobs and Headband like me, so maybe they can put in a good word."

Anna says, "I know how you feel. I was crazy for Automobile before I started dating him but luckily fate was on my side when I accidently ran into him in the dining hall."

"I'm dating one of the managers, maybe I can set you up" says Lizzy.

"Dammit," Firetruck says, "I can't believe I just fouled out. Now I'm benched for the rest of the game."

At least I get to see Ruby. She doesn't know but I think she's so beautiful. The only reason I haven't gone for her is because both Moobs and Headband want her. I guess the only good thing about being on the bench is that I get to see her.

"Woooooo," says Ruby, "I'm so happy we won, but I'm hungry. Dinner, anyone?"

"Okay fattie. I'm hungry too." says Madison.

What happened next is the most embarrassing thing. We stayed back after the game kinda late because we were too busy talking, so we ended up walking out of the arena at the same time as the basketball team. I was just going to play it cool and walk to the dining hall, but of course my clumsy self had to ruin it.

Ruby tripped down the stairs, but I caught her in one swift motion. I guess the basketball drills actually work for something.

"Uh thanks" she says as she runs off to catch up to her friends.

Good job, Firetruck. My one shot to talk to my crush but I let her run off while I am standing here shocked.
