The airport terminal was as busy as ever, but the corner where Kitty and Min Ho sat felt almost secluded from the noise around them. The air was calm between them now, a comfortable silence that reflected how far their friendship had come since last season. There was no tension, no awkwardness—just two people who had learned to be at ease with each other.
Kitty shifted in her seat, glancing at Min Ho. "Thank you for letting me come on this tour, if I weren't here I'd be back at home watching movies with Lara Jean and Peter. By the way, how long do you think we'll be here? The jet's not exactly on a schedule."
Min Ho looked up from his phone for a moment, then shrugged. "Hard to say. It's never really on time, but I've learned not to worry about it."
She let out a soft laugh. "Must be nice. I'd be stressed out if it were me."
"I guess it's just easier not to," he said, leaning back in his chair, his tone casual.
Their conversation was interrupted by the unmistakable voice of Eunice, who was overly excited. "Joon Ho, tell me everything! What's it really like being a pop star? Is it as glamorous as it seems?"
Joon Ho gave a soft smile, looking up from his phone. "It has its perks, but there's a lot of work behind it."
Kitty watched the exchange, then turned back to Min Ho. "Eunice never stops asking questions, does she?"
Min Ho glanced at his brother and then back to her. "No, she doesn't. But she means well."
Kitty shook her head. "She seems fun though, it's a shame that her and Dae broke up."
Min Ho smirked. "Yeah, but they'll both move on, I know them."
She sighed, "I'll just miss them together, they were adorable!"
Min Ho chuckled softly. "I can't argue with that,"
Kitty stretched her legs out in front of her, the quiet settling back in between them. She changed the topic. "I'm just glad we're not in a crowded gate. I'd probably be climbing the walls by now."
Min Ho nodded. "Yeah, this is a bit more relaxing."
The two of them sat in companionable silence for a while, the occasional noise from Joon Ho and Eunice in the background. Kitty looked over at Min Ho again, her voice a bit more thoughtful now.
"If we end up stuck here longer," she said lightly, "I might start making up stories about the people passing by."
Min Ho gave her a look. "Please don't."
Kitty smiled to herself. "Alright, I'll spare you. But if you change your mind..."
Min Ho's lips twitched. "I'll be sure to let you know." he said in a sarcastic tone.
The boarding process was quick and efficient, and before long, Kitty and Min Ho were stepping onto the private jet. The sleek interior of the plane was far more luxurious than any commercial flight, but Kitty couldn't help feeling a bit of awe as she took it all in.
'Damn" she murmered as she strolled through the aisle.
The seats were soft, the lighting warm, and the hum of the jet's engines already adding a sense of calm to the atmosphere.
Min Ho, as usual, seemed unbothered by it all. He made his way to the row of seats and casually took a window seat, pulling out his phone again. Kitty, a little more animated, took the seat beside him, her curiosity piqued as she looked around.
"You know, I could get used to this," she said with a grin. "Flying like a VIP every time."
Min Ho didn't even glance up from his screen. "Yeah, it's a lot easier than the usual chaos. But I wouldn't want to do it all the time."
Kitty raised an eyebrow. "Really? This looks like the kind of life most people dream of."
He smirked, his voice dry. "You wouldn't be saying that if you had to deal with the schedules and endless meetings."
Kitty shrugged, settling in. "Fair point. I guess I'd prefer the calm part of it all. I'm not sure I'd be cut out for the whole 'jet-set' lifestyle."
As they continued their conversation, the sound of footsteps approaching caught their attention. Eunice and Joon Ho were making their way down the aisle, laughing about something only they seemed to find amusing. Without hesitation, Eunice plopped down in the seat across from them, practically bouncing in excitement.
"Okay, I just have to know," Eunice said, her voice enthusiastic. "How do you guys manage to look so calm all the time? I'd be freaking out if I were on a plane like this. It's so... fancy."
Kitty glanced over at Min Ho, who looked unfazed by the question. "I think it's just a matter of getting used to it. Min Ho's been doing this for a while, so he's kind of immune to the whole 'wow factor' by now."
Min Ho gave a slight shrug but didn't offer much more. Eunice, however, was undeterred, turning her attention back to Kitty.
"So, you're not freaking out either? That's impressive," Eunice said, her tone half-teasing, half-incredulous.
Kitty grinned. "I'm trying to keep it together. I mean, I've flown before, but this is a whole new level. It's a little hard not to feel like I'm in some kind of movie."
Joon Ho, who was still being pestered by eunice while she sat next to him, leaned forward and gave them a knowing look. "You get used to it after a while. It's all about finding the right balance between enjoying the perks and staying grounded."
Kitty nodded thoughtfully, her gaze shifting back to the window. "I guess that makes sense."
As the plane began to taxi down the runway, Mr. Moon, who had been seated in a different part of the plane, caught their attention briefly. He offered them a casual nod of acknowledgment before returning to his seat, settling into his own space. The quiet confidence he exuded reminded Kitty of how used to this lifestyle he must be, as he always seemed to flaunt it.
The conversation around her continued, but Kitty found herself content to simply listen for a while. She had never been on a private jet before, and part of her just wanted to take it all in.
Eunice, always the chatterbox, broke the silence. "So, what's the first thing you're doing when we land? I'm guessing practising for your big performance, Joon Ho?"
Joon Ho smiled softly, but it was clear he wasn't one to boast. "There's always something going on, but we'll see. For now, I'm just going to rest at the hotel."
Kitty could see how much Joon Ho valued his downtime, and it made her respect him more. The life of a performer seemed exhausting, but it was clear that he had his priorities in check.
"Sounds like a plan," she said, leaning back in her seat, feeling the soft vibration of the plane as it took off. The view outside the window began to shift as they ascended into the sky, and for a brief moment, Kitty let herself be fully present, enjoying the calm before whatever the next adventure would bring.
