When the protagonist was only a young child this was set back long ago. The protagonist was relaxing under the large apple tree you almost got hurt until Caleb saved you.

(Short Story)

You wandered down towards the field as the thick forest and tall grass clouded your view. You walked towards the giant apple tree, with its large roots making a seat for you as you sat on the nearby root.

You looked up toward the giant apple tree, looking at all the different sizes of fruit. As the clear sky shone down, you took a moment to close your eyes and enjoy the silence.

You had always enjoyed sitting by this tree, it had always felt relaxing to enjoy the peacefulness in one of the nearby fields near your home.
You could hear some background noise as you turned around to see Caleb, with his soft smile, as he saw your figure sitting in the tree.

"I knew you would be here, are you here enjoying the start of summer?" Caleb said gently as he sat beside you. His face slowly leaned towards you as he continued to look at your appearance with a sense of awe.

You had always thought Caleb was your best friend as you looked towards his scruffy brown hair and his beautiful purple eyes that had always seemed to sparkle whenever he talked about gravity and space.

You knew it was always Caleb's dream to one day score through the sky as you continued to stare at Caleb, you truly hoped he would always accomplish his dream. As both of you sat in silence, Caleb slowly spoke up.

"They say if I don't get an Evol, I'll be less likely to join most fighter jets and stay in a smaller role..." Caleb mumbled under his breath as he shifted towards his hands he looked rather worried as he closed his eyes.

"You are worried about something so trivial? Even if you don't get an Evol, they'll be stupid to reject you." You smiled softly as you leaned your head on his shoulder, and he gave out a light chuckle as he rested his head on yours.

"Thanks for believing in me," Caleb whispered as he held you close he wrapped his small hands around yours.

You didn't know how much time had passed, but once you had awoken, it was raining heavily. You looked around, confused, and both of you seemed to have fallen asleep, all curled up together. As you slowly woke, Caleb was rather surprised to see the heavy downpour.

"It was rather lucky this tree was saving us from the rain," Caleb said as he looked towards the muddy puddles.

"How do we get out and back to Grandma...?" You said gently as you held your little hand out to catch some of the heavy rain.
Caleb stood close to you as he held your hand he watched the heavy rain pour down.

"We'll have to wait, it's probably the safest way. You may get a cold if you stay out in the rain for a long time, Gramda said I'm the one who has to protect you." Caleb whispered as he held your hand tighter and he slowly looked back at your figure.

As you slowly went back to sleep on Caleb's shoulder, he held you close as he watched the water drops getting closer with each stretch. As the wind blew the giant apple tree he looked up towards the large red apple that was right above the two of you.

He held onto you gently as he watched Apple for any movement. His eyes widened as he watched the apple slowly fall. He covered his body, shielding you from any harm. It took a few seconds to realise he hadn't felt anything hit him.

He quickly looked up to the spot where the red apple was, but instead, it was floating next to him.

He jumped slightly as he reached his hand out to slowly take the Red apple. His eyes were then focused on the rain, now that the rain had stopped mid-air. He froze as he quickly took hold of this advantage and ran back home, carrying you in his arms as he felt you slightly burning up.

You woke up ill, and you had to spend a few days in bed as you talked with Caleb, and he seemed to have a new sparkle in his eyes.

Ever since then, he's been using his Evol. But he could never tell you how he got it in the first place, but you knew he seemed to look at apples differently since then.
