Josh hops down first before placing his hands on Y/N's hips, lifting her down from the cabinet.
"Why, thank you, kind sir." She says, kissing his cheek as a thank you. She began walking off back to the others before realising he wasn't following.
"You not coming back?" She asks, walking back over to him.
"I have something to do quickly. You'll be fine without me for a bit?" He asks, cupping her cheek in his hand.
"Course I will, I just thought it was something you had to sort out at the house." She leans into his hand, remembering just how much she missed his warmth.
"You'll be careful, right?" She asked, worried something might happen to him, especially with him going on his own. She didn't want another repeat of last year.
"I'll be fine." He leans down, kissing her forehead quickly before pulling away and making his way to the metal gate.
"...okay." She mutters, watching him walk away.
"Please be back before Jess and Mike get here, though." She calls out while walking backwards to the front of the lodge.
"Why?" He asks, laughing a little.
"I don't really wanna deal with her and Em on my own. You know they're not on good terms anymore."
"I know, I know. I'll be back before then, I promise."
"Good." She calls back, sending him a kiss. He catches it to his heart,
acting love struck. She laughs, waving him off and turning back to continuing walking.
"We're freezing our buns off out here!" Ashley shouts out to Chris, getting really cold now, hugging her body to try and keep some body heat in. Chris used the makeshift flamethrower on the frozen lock before almost burning his hand while trying to turn the handle.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you, I'll be here all week -"
A baby wolverine bolts past Chris and the other, causing them all to jump and scream in fear.
"Crap, that thing freaked me out." Chris says, holding his hand to his chest.
"What was it? Are you okay? " Ashley asks, walking up to Chris checking on him.
"It was like a bear, or a tiger or something -"
"Aw, it was just a cute little baby wolverine!" Sam coos at the animal while also taking the mick out of Chris.
"Baby?"
"Don't worry, buddy, you're gonna be a big boy soon." Josh says, creeping up on them. Y/N was hiding behind Sam while Matt just stood there almost unshaved.
They all finally walk in, feeling the warmth of the lodge seep through them. Y/N takes a look around as they enter seeing all of the furniture under covers, most likely to keep dust off of them, the old pictures of the once happy family still up, this time a light coating of dust could be seen on them.
"Home, sweet home." Josh says, making his way over to the fireplace.
"Sweet is not the word I'd use." Matt comments, putting his and Em's bags down before walking to sit on one of the coffee tables. Y/N sits on one of the sofas, taking her jacket off and using it as a blanket over her legs.
"Oh my gosh, it's SO GOOD to be inside. Even if it's still kinda freezing in here." Ashley says, joining her on the sofa, sitting close to share body heat and keep warm.
"I'll get a fire going," Josh states while putting fresh wood into the fireplace.
"God, please do." Y/N says, rubbing her arms to warm up, the hoodie she was wearing wasn't really doing anything.
"This place looks barely any different." Matt comments, looking around the main room.
"Nobody's been up here." Josh responded too focused on the fire.
Y/N zones their conversation out, looking around the place, which didn't last and before Mike and Jess arrived.
"What's up, party people!" Mike loudly exclaims, lifting his arms in the air, causing Y/N to roll her eyes at his big entrance.
"Heeey!" Jess announces after walking in behind him.
"Hey guys." Y/N says waving at them, earning hellos and waves from the new couple. She places her coat over Ash's lap to keep her warm as she walks over to help Josh with the fire.
"Make yourself at home, bro." Josh says, seemly struggling with the fire.
"Will do." Mike says, walking over to sit on the over sofa, but before he does, Matt walks over, still clearly pissed off.
"Yeah. Come on in. Take a load off. Have whatever you want. You just take whatever you want anyway, right?" Matt taunted, walking up to Mike squaring up to him
"Woah, easy there, cowboy." Mike warned, holding his hands up in defence.
"Mike, stay away from my girlfriend." Matt demanded
"Dude - what are you talking about?" Mike asks, clearly a little confused.
"Stay away from Emily."
"Emily? Why would I want anything to do with Emily?" Mike asked, confused.
"Right... Right."
"Something going on with you, man?"
"Forget it. I lost my head. It's been a long day." Matt backs down, returning back to the table he was previously sat at.
"Yeah, well... Try not to lose it again."
Matts once sat back down, watches the longest lasting couple struggle with the fire.
