Chapter 2: The Captor

Start from the beginning

Voice of the Committed:
Oh? She wants a hug?

Voice of the Hero:
Well, that doesn't sound so bad. Things have been pretty stressful here.

. (Approach the Princess.)

The Narrator:
You're really just going to trust her no matter what she says, huh?

The Narrator:
As soon as you get the slightest bit closer, the Princess reaches out to the chains to the side of her.

Voice of the Hero:
What is she... doing?

The Narrator:
The unused chains, as if drawn by some unseen magnetism, get sent flying right for you. You barely have any chance to react before they envelop you.

Voice of the Hero:
Wait, what?

Voice of the Committed:
Maybe she really is upset with us.

Voice of the Hero:
We can't do anything if we're stuck here. What are we going to do?

The Narrator:
Well.. like I said, unfortunately for you and the rest of the world, one of the chains and shackles snap around your neck, pulling up right to the Princess. She pets the top of your head softly.

The Narrator:
This isn't over yet, just slay her and everything will be okay. Just reach out to her and do it.

. (Slay the Princess.)

Voice of the Committed:
Wait, what? No, let's hold on for a moment. Sure, she's a bit extreme, but we can't kill her because of it.

The Narrator:
Ignore that little voice. You reach up to the Princess and wrap your hands around her small neck. Her surprise is genuine, like she didn't imagine her action would have consequences.

Voice of the Hero:
Okay, I guess we're doing this, even if it feels wrong when she's so chained up.

The Princess can barely get any sounds out as you squeeze the life out of her.

The Captor:
W-Why?

. "I'm not staying here with you, anymore. You need to be here alone." (Slay the Princess.)

The Narrator:
The Princess' eyes tear up as she shows a confusing mix of emotions on her face, but even as you pull the life out of her, she barely fights back.

Voice of the Committed:
What have you done? Do you realize how horrible we've become? She just wanted to be close to us.

The Narrator:
Do you hear yourself when you speak? The Princess was dangerous, but at the least she's slain, and you can.. no, wait.

Voice of the Hero:
What is it..? What's wrong now?

The Narrator:
Well, I just realized that you can't exactly leave. You're still chained up, but you still have your reward.

Voice of the Committed:
Are you doing this on purpose? Pouring salt into the wound, so to say?

The Narrator:
Time starts to pass, and because of the Princess' death, eternity is yours to enjoy. Just try not to look at her decaying corpse.

Voice of the Hero:
Why did you have to say that?

The Narrator:
I have a duty to dictate what's going on with accuracy. Which means, including the corpse next to you.

Voice of the Committed:
You're horrible. Sigh.

The Narrator:
Time starts to pass. The moment keeps on going, and you aren't even sure how much time has gone by. Maybe days, months or even years.

. "Wait, years? How come we aren't starving? We need to eat something."

The Narrator:
I.. guess you're right. You're starting to get hungry, feeling the gnawing pain in your stomach.

Voice of the Committed:
Is this our punishment? Starving to death?

Voice of the Hero:
I don't get it. How is time passing by so quickly?

The Narrator:
You aren't sure. But eventually the pain of hunger turns into a numbness. You reflexively grip onto your stomach, but it does nothing to quell the ache.

Voice of the Committed:
Hopefully she'll be there again in the next life. She needs more than an apology...

Voice of the Hero:
This is agonizing. Ugh...

The Narrator:
Your pain can't be put into simple words. You fall onto your side, vision blurring before finally going still. It's the end.

Voice of the Hero:
Really?

The Narrator:
Yes. It would've been easier if you hadn't gotten so close to her, but I guess you can't really turn back time.

The Narrator:
Everything goes dark, and you die.
