"Suit yourself."
The alien walked into his house and asecond later he looked out the window, unharmed. "Stupid human," he muttered under his breath. "Are you afraid of my amazing lair?" Dib clenched his fist as he replied, "No! It's just you're hiding something. Something horrible!" Zim rolled his red eyes, but it was hard to tell since he had two pink dots instead of one like a human. "What could I possibly do? I can't destroy you with the computer systems down," he lied. His computer systems were just upgraded and they were set especially for his DNA. The human would have no chance against him and his technology.
"I don't know, Zim, but--" Dib tried to say, but Zim cut him off by slamming the window shut. He sighed and opened the alien's door. If I die today, will the world know how hard I tried? Huh? Will they? he thought. If he didn't go in, he just threatened Zim for nothing, and he'd probably get revenge soon. But if he did go in...he might never come out the same, or worse, he wouldn't come out at all. For Sam, enemies will team up, and destroy whatever is holding her hostage...or whatever she's doing.
"Well? Stop letting the heat out!" he snapped, pulling Dib inside. The human took off his black lab coat and threw it on the couch. He considered taking off his blue shirt with a face on it, but he decided not to. At least, not in front of Zim. If Sam was there.... He blushed just thinking about it.
"Now, Dib, see the real reason I agreed! Prepare for destruction!" Zim announced, interrupting his thoughts. "AAH!!" he screamed, covering his huge head with his arms. A few seconds later, nothing happened. Zim was shouting with blind fury at his computer about something, pounding on a keyboard that randomly appeared in front of him. "I COMMAND YOU TO DESTROY THE DIB!! I AM YOUR MASTER, AND YOU WILL OBEY ME, OBEY ME!!!" he squealed. There was no reply. Dib let his arms drop to his sides as he smirked. "Thanks, Zim, for agreeing to help," the human taunted. Zim turned to him with the most exasperated look you could imagine, his spider-like arms protruding from his Pak.
"You think I am not ready, Dib, but you are wrong, so horribly wrong! Get ready human, and watch carefully, for it will be the last thing you will ever see!" Zim hissed loudly. "How are you gonna do that without your computer, Zim?" He hoped the alien couldn't tell his heart was pounding faster than a starving rabbit with a carrot in front of its face.
"My computer is running fine," Zim said, clearly confused. "Then how come it didn't do anything?" he asked. The Irken shrugged. "Well that's dumb. I mean, how do you not know if your computer is running?" Dib said. "Do not even attempt to understand the ways to my people!!" he snapped as he pressed a button. The house shook as the lights burnt out. "Eh?!" he said, "What is this?! Computer, emergency lights!" Nothing still. "What on Irk?!" Dib laughed, half taunting and half hysterical. "Face it, Zim, your system is down." The house shook even more, forcing both of them to their knees as they yelped. "This is part of my plan, foolish Dib worm!" Zim said evilly. He knew the human couldn't see he was just as surprised as he was. Fear not, a voice called in his head.
Zim looked over at Dib, who was holding his gargantuan head with his hand. "Who are you...? What are you?" the boy asked. "You hear it as well?" Zim questioned. I am not an it, Zim! the voice snapped. The alien recoiled as if he'd been shot in the foot. The voice was familiar, patronizing and sweet at the same time. "Sam," both Dib and Zim said in unison. "Where in the universe are you?" Dib asked. Somewhere, some time. It doesn't matter, now does it? Sam said. He could imagine her leaning against the wall, smirking arrogantly at the fact he was so dumb. "Sam, tell me, please! I...I love you and I want to help you get back here, with me!" he tried again. He could see Zim holding in his puke at the other end of the room. The look of disgust on his face when he said that...could it be? Of course not, the devious alien can't even stand friendship. It was a silly thought.
Sorry, I don't go out with strange, insane, big-headed kids I just met. You're way out of my age group, she sassed. "S-Sam... how could you? Wait, wait, wait. I'm way out of your age group?! But you're really smart and you're a freshman," Dib said, adding the last part to conceal his broken heart. Maybe on Earth, but where I'm from I am a grown woman, with the age of five hundred twenty-four. I think a sixteen year old is a little... immature, she answered nonchalantly. Didn't she see Dib was almost broken? "Yes, yes, a lovely sob story, but what did you do with my base?!" Zim yelled, breaking Dib's thoughts. Sam laughed, a sound that echoed, sending vibrations down their chests. No one dared to move, not even breathe.
Why, ask Silverfox. He seems to enjoy playing tricks on you especially considering what you did! Her voice rose with anger and emotion. "Wha--" Zim tried to say, but a loud roar of thunder drowned out his words. His eyes opened wide as he ran to look out the window. He saw rain...water...and a brilliant white light. Three seconds passed and another loud bang hit his sensitive antennae.
The storm was starting.
