Jaehyun stared blankly at the sheet in front of him—as he eyed the score placed at the very top of the paper in big red bold numbers. He buried his head down into his arms and took a deep breath.
To be honest the male was more disappointed in himself than his parents would be. It was his second time taking the SAT's exam after the incident, mentally and physically he was exhausted. But this was the determinant of his future, what was he supposed to do at this point. Worst of all he had to repeat the year yet again, it was frustrating.
The dark haired male wanted to scream at the top of his lungs... but he had to make a quick mental reminder that he wasn't the only person present in the room.
Sitting at her desk was a middle aged woman, working on her scheme for the next semester. The nice looking lady slowly looked up acknowledging the presence of the distressed looking young man who had now started to prepare he's things to leave the classroom.
"Jaehyun can I speak to you for a moment", the lady called for the young man's attention. The younger male taking his belongings—slowly made his way towards the lady. "Yes Mrs jo, you called for me?", jaehyun said in a soft and polite tone. Honestly the boy wasn't a menace, he wasn't even a bad kid—the teachers actually adored the kid. The dark haired male was off to a good start to say the least, but the rather talented male wasn't fortunate enough.
"Jaehyun, how are you feeling", the woman addressed the very obviously distressed looking male, "it's the same as last year Mrs jo, not really good enough to get me into college", jaehyun responded, sighing almost inaudibly.
"You know jaehyun, you aren't a bad kid. I would never understand why such a thing would happen to a lovely boy like you", she paused to scan the sad males face—she felt bad for him. "I know you are not dumb jaehyun, it's so sad to watch your dream crumble before your eyes in just a single fleeting moment".
Jaehyun looking even more heartbroken than before —the woman was right, only if he weren't so clumsy and took the doctor's warnings seriously he wouldn't be in this mess. But all he ever was, was a passionate young man. He had just wanted to swim for he's team that very day. He did not want to let his team down, he didn't mean any harm—well partially. But why him, why must the cruel world take the one thing he loved the most away from him, The male thought to himself.
"Jaehyun?", the woman called for the attention of the young man who seemed to be far deep in thought—making the male look up at the worried looking lady. "I know you have it in you to face these problems head on this coming grade. I wouldn't hold anything against you but I know you could improve your grades, don't let this accident define you", the young lady said with a reassuring nod and a smile before continuing. "Have you ever thought of getting a tutor?".
"a tutor?", jaehyun repeated mentally. Honestly he had thought of it once, but the male didn't think it was a great idea.
The first year of the incident his teammates had all graduated with their outstanding sport records, and are now in their dream sport institutions.
It made jaehyun angry and sad that he could not get into the sport academy of his dreams, he had worked so hard—all that hard work for nothing. The only friends the male had at school were some juniors from his swimming team, his childhood friend mark and mark's boyfriend donghyuck who stuck by his side most of the time as they saw that he had been going through a lot. Juniors who weren't juniors anymore, friends who would be graduating as they also had outstanding records to get themselves into the sport academy of their dreams. Jaehyun did not want to mingle further, he knew even tho everyone seemed so nice to him—those were all masked behind pity, the pity they felt seeing a star athlete loose his name and passion. Jaehyun felt pathetic, so he blocked people out, only clinging to mark and donghyuck for comfort.
