(This is the sequel to my first book, Trust. So if you haven't already, check that out first!)

for best effects, try reading this book out loud. If you can't, you can still enjoy the story.

Paimon floated next to Lumine. They'd trudged along in this desert heat, and the sand felt like it went on forever. They'd run out of water already. With the sun showing no mercy, sweat beaded their foreheads. The map Lumine was holding was quickly growing damp from the sweat pouring off her palms.

They squinted into the distance, and saw the shadows of a tree, not too far away.

Considering that they haven't had a proper rest since a day ago, the shade that the foliage of this tree provided was immeasurably priceless. Paimon grabbed Lumine's hand, and together, hurried over to the Ash tree, where they slumped over, panting.

Lumine dropped her heavy pack onto the ground, expecting for it to hit sand. But was surprised when she found out that it had hit something soft-grass! She'd never been more happy to see grass in her entire life. She tapped Paimon on the shoulder and pointed down. Paimon's eyes widened, and she grinned. She opened her mouth to say something, but no sound came out-her throat was too dry.

Lumine looked ahead, to make sense of the path, to see where it would lead. But...there was something strange-there was so much grass onwards, and the path...the path abruptly ended just where the grass started.

She got up, and scrambled over. She was doing it so brashly, she nearly sent herself tumbling over the edge of the massive cliff. Shimmering waters cloaked the land of Fontaine. There was a massive, majestic building that stood proudly.

If they'd just glide down, they'd officially be in the city of Fontaine, welcomed or not.

Lumine quickly walked back, snatched up her bag, and gestured for Paimon to float with her. She took a running leap off the edge, and glided down smoothly with her wind glider. The sea breeze felt so refreshing against her dry skin. There were dolphins and fish and so many other marine life down there, swimming around. Paimon floated beside her, a shine in her eyes.

Finally, they arrived in Fontaine, the nation of Justice.
