"I missed you so much, baby," I say looking up at KB.
We were in the cut of a hallway in the Michelob Ultra Arena for our game tonight. Which was very risky but I didn't care I hadn't been in her presence for a couple weeks due to my busy schedule.
"Missed you too mamas but we probably shouldn't be standing so close. Your sister or anybody could walk by anytime." KB said smirking.
"I know but I can't help it we barely see each other because of how crazy our schedules are."
"It's okay mamas we can hang out tonight after the game both our teams have a couple of rest days before we travel again. Where you wanna go?"
"Anywhere as long as I'm with you." I leaned in to get a kiss.
She leaned in closing the gap between us.
We continue kissing until someone clears their throat interrupting us.
"Uh oh, what do we have going on here?" Sydney says with a smirk.
"You know your sister gonna go off when she finds out right."
"She's not gonna find out because you're gonna keep it on the hush."
"Oh, you ain't gotta worry about me y'all gonna slip up somehow." She said with a shrug and walked away.
"I gotta leave now, baby girl. That was too close. I'll catch you after the game, good luck." KB says, kissing my forehead.
KB and I were playing a dangerous game because my sister did not play that. A'ja wanted me to stay away from the majority of the women in the W, I know for a fact she wouldn't want me dealing with her teammates.
I go into the visitors' locker room to get ready for the game. We speak about our plan of action before getting ready to head out for tip-off.
The game starts with us taking the lead but the Aces quickly caught up.
DeWanna attempts to shoot a 3 it bounces off the rim and flies towards me.
I go to grab the rebound and I'm knocked to the floor by KB. She picks me up from behind by my waist to help me up, holding on longer than she should. She pats the sides of my waist and releases me. I couldn't help but shake my head and smile.
I walked down to the other side and looked at the jumbo screen replaying the incident and it looked a little more than helpful.
DiJonai, one of my teammates and close friends came over to me.
"Not y'all pulling a me and Lyssa." She said to me while using her hand to cover her mouth.
I couldn't help but laugh.
"Sis please, I don't think Lyssa dragged it like KB," I say to her leaning in.
"Don't look now, but your sister might have peeped."
I look over to my sister and she has this look on her face that I know all too well. She figured out something was going on between KB and me.
I know later I'd have to face her but for now, I needed to lock into the game.
Although I had a great night and put up 25 points the Aces still walked away with the W the final score being 85-74. After I did post-game presser and showered I went to the Aces locker room to face my sister.
"Hey y'all good game," I said going around giving hugs to the ladies before landing at my sister.
"Great game today sis."
"Same to you too and we gotta talk. All three of us." She said pointing to her, myself, and KB.
"Ohhh y'all in trouble." Chelsea and Jackie say together.
"Yeah, sure," I said trying to keep my nerves down.
We step out of the locker room and head into another room to talk.
"So you wanna tell me what's going on with y'all?" A'ja said cutting to the chase.
"Um, we've been together for 6 months," I say scratching my head and letting out a nervous giggle.
"So y'all have been going behind my back for months? KB you know how I am about my sister. I gave everyone on the team specific instructions to stay away from her and you over here messing around." A'ja said with irritation.
"It's not like that A, we're not playing around we're in a serious relationship and I'm sorry but I don't regret falling for your sister because she's amazing and I love her," KB says putting her arm around my shoulder as a way to comfort me because she knew I was on edge.
"We honestly tried to stay away from each other trying to respect your wishes but we couldn't and it was unfair for us to deny ourselves from loving each other. A, I love her so much she's honestly one of the best partners I've ever had. She makes me feel butterflies every time she speaks to me, she's always sending me flowers just because, and she takes my interest seriously and is always excited for me to tap into them more."
"Damn, I ain't never hear you talk about your exes like this you must love her ?"
"I do sis and I'm sorry for not telling you. Like honestly, please forgive us."
She takes a long pause and then a deep sigh.
"I could never stay mad at you. I'm sorry you feel you couldn't tell me. Just make sure y'all treat each other right. KB we gonna have a separate conversation later." She said giving KB a look that said she was gonna go off on her some more.
"Thank you, sis," I say pulling her into a hug.
"Yeah, whatever. Let me get outta here, text me later so we can have a sister's day before you leave. "
"Later KB." She said putting her hand out for them to do their handshake.
"Later A, we'll talk."
After A'ja left I let out a deep breath I didn't know I was holding.
"That went better than I expected."
"No for real I thought she was gonna crash out."
"At least she knows now and we don't have to keep it lowkey."
"I get to kiss you, post you, and love you out loud," KB says placing kisses all over my face and then landing on my lips.
